Hallowed Blight Devstream-Description Feedback
On the bright side, this event is very easy to grind, as all it takes is a tiny bit of stealthily grabbing event objectives for survivors to max out their event grind, or just playing normally for most killers.
Let's look at the grind, shall we? Assuming that each match lasts 10 minutes and the player in question maxes out their syringe in each match (which shouldn't be terribly hard to do), and at a maximum of 30 vials, players will only need to grind 5 hours (30 ten-minute matches for a total of 300 minutes/5 hours) across the two weeks of the event to gain its maximum event-exclusive benefit, of just one skin.
A small grind/effort, for a small reward. It's fair, I suppose, but not what (I'd assume) the players want.
Not being able to grind out what the person wants, even if they're willing to put ridiculous amounts of time into the game, is off-putting at best and alienating at worst. Dangling something dazzling in front of someone for weeks as an 'event reward' that they can earn by accomplishing certain things within the game (which, by ALL previous event standards, ALL the rewards from which have been obtainable from in-game grind), and then, come time for the event, pulling it back and saying 'now you can only get one of these by playing the game, the rest you'll have to pay for' is just a slap in the face. Next time, just say in advance that the player will only get to choose one. Otherwise, the devs bring on a wave of resentment from the player base that didn't have to be brought on.
Sure, extra points are a-okay. But every event has featured that, and the Summer BBQ event seems to even have the same bloodpoint reward scaling as this event. So, the bloodpoints are nothing new.
The only 'new'/'exclusive' things in this event are the cosmetics, event offering, old Halloween event items for those who didn't already have them, and hook skins/plants/syringes which will be gone come the end of the event.
Among those 'new'/'exclusive' things, the only ones that people care about are generally the cosmetics, since those are the only true 'event rewards'. And to have the amount of those that you can earn capped, regardless of effort, is just disappointing. The player who plays 40-50 hours of matches over the two weeks of the event will receive the same amount of 'event rewards' as the person who plays 5 hours of matches over the two weeks of the event. I'd reckon that's annoying to anyone who planned to play more than 5 hours of matches during the event.
If any amount of effort over the cap (the cap that requires minimal effort to hit) was rewarding, then I would have actually bought some of these skins at a later date if I could not grind for them enough, because I would have liked to complete an event collection and probably wouldn't have had time to fully complete it by grinding.
But after the devs did what I mentioned previously, and imposed a hard cap on rewards irrespective of effort? I won't be buying any of these event cosmetics that I couldn't get during the event itself, on the principle of not supporting how shoddily the devs handled the event.
That's my two cents of feedback on the subject for the devs.
