MY FIRST TIME ON SWF - SOLO Q VS SWF - NO CLICKBAIT

Hi, dear survivors and killers.

I am main red rank survivor. I have been complaining a lot about the Solo Q experience for survivors. Where the kill rate is very high and opportunities for survivors to scape very low. In SoloQ ,Tunnel, proxycamp and playing Spirit is the Hoply Grail for 4k matches. And I have been very tilted recently and lost motivation to play the game till the point that sometimes I just stopped playing and step in front the killer when tunnel came.

So well. Yesterday was the first day I tried SWF . I had heard a lot about SWF (is op; the vast of them are friends just taking ez; that stuff). This was my sensation:

SWF and Solo Q are just different games. I played with 3 unknow guys and I felt since the first moment we had all the control. U may track the killer all the time (where he is, where is he going, perks, if camp or not....everything). Also, ofc, u can combine your perks before the macth (survivors with BT, DS, UB, prove thyself, Soul guardian, etc).

The majority of games if we kept focus and not doing the fool, we could just outplay the killer. With genrush, bodyblocking cover hits, taking the chase out of the gens being repaired, opening both gates at once... There was some games where we lost (we were 3 red ranks and 1 green). We lost to a Deathslinher because of 3 gen and some other. Vs spirit it was 2K 2S.

So these are my consclussion:

  • Solo Q is abusive for masochistic survivors.
  • SWF is OP (if I felt so much power on my first games with unknow people, imagine if playing more often with those guys or a team).
  • Killers don´t know what are they facing, and they should know. If you play fair or clean vs SWF maybe u lose your chance.
  • Behaviour must buff Solo Q ASAP giving them communication tools and map information. When Solo Q won´t be milles away from SWF, buff the weakest killers and make them playable at high levels. Balance the game.

    And btw.... we found 3 facecampers: blight, huntress and a Insidious Bubba. We managed to rescue only vs Huntress.

    Nothing to do with Bubba´s bassement or Blight. So in these 2 cases we repaired and left. What I mean is that these games on Solo Q tend to be 4k as solo players usually are altruistic and don´t have enough information for optimal deccision maklng.

    Map Information is related to performance inevitably. And best deccision making. So yes...communications are very good.

    Killers can tunnel and camp also with SWF. But.... SWF can handle better with this tactic doing more efficient rescues or repairs. Whts is more....there were games where killers were being abused. And honestly, If Huntress wouldn´t have gained pressure proxy camping, she wouldn´t have had any chance.

    As there is no real way to eliiminate Comms and SWF will use it, everybody should have it. People in torunaments also use communications.

    Chat voice could be very streesing and intense. We also see people struggling in hook since first second. Imagine if that guy is able to scream u...No thank u.

    Voice commands on the other hand are the better option: "killer chasing me", "como to rescue, X", "gen almost done here"....that stuff.

    It's mostly the lack of skill which differentiates solo and swf. The best team i've ever played with for a while played without comms. You could use every pallet because you knew that there are 3 people on 3 different gens right now. They all had so much game sense and experience and were decent loopers. And they were sweaty. The killer could only stop us if we got to arrogant or made mistakes in quick succession.

    On the other side, i played on comms with mediocre survivors and while there are surely some advantages to playing solo, i don't think it's like "swf with voice comm -> 100% escape rate" - as some people want to believe. We got 4k'ed a lot by decent killers.

    I think strong survivors add other strong survivors on Steam etc. because they're fed up with the solo experience and want to play with reliable teammates. It's not so much the voice comms that make the difference i think, even if they're necessary on absolutely highest skill level (tournaments).

    Besides that, most people i know rarely play in 4-mans, there are mostly 2 or 3 people in a swf.

    But yeah, solo is still the worst dbd experience, by far.

    • 4 bad survivors in SWF have more opportunities to do better than 4 bad solo survivors.
    • 4 average survivors in SWF have more opportunities to do better than 4 average solo survivors.
    • 4 good survivors in SWF have more opportunities to do better than 4 good solo survivors.

    The point is SWF + VC is amazing, and it doesn't matter if a few people are sooo bad they still lose even with it.

    There are killers who still lose when playing Spirit or Blight with BBQ, Ruin, Tinkerer. and Stridor, but that doesn't mean it isn't a strong set up.

    I think it depends on the skill level of the SWF. I had six friends who all quit this game because the killers matched my rank and made games miserable for them. I've never had the pleasure of a full four man SWF at the same skill level. I just suffer now in solo queue.

    I've never heard any high rank killers mention how easy their games are when they get SWFs like the ones we had. It's so weird.

    I think SWF and soloQ should have separate rankings and killers that go choose to go vs SWF get a reward like 100% extra blood points because if u need them for the grind ur probably ok enough at the game to not get bodied completely but this is just a rushed idea from a newbie I'd love to hear your opinion.

    @Artemisha

    I never said communication isn't good. I said communication isn't going to fix Solo Q survivors incompetence. Two very different things.

    Even without nearly as much communication you can have a decent match if survivors are aware of their surroundings, even when the killer is camping. I've had killers asked if we were SWF when I was in a team of solos before... wanna know why? Because normally SoloQ teammates also don't want to take aggro whether it's taking hits by bodyblocking or just trading hooks. They aren't willing to do it where it's necessary.

    So yes SWF will always be better, but not for the reasons you are thinking.

    @Troman

    Again. Look at my response. Of course SWF is better, but it isn't like the mere fact that communication exists makes my friends play better. I know them and I can attest to the fact that they can run the killer for a decent amount of time and save me when I most needed it. I can't put my trust on a random who for all I know is way below my rank.

    Solo survivors do suck many times, what game have you been playing?

    This is true but I feel like you all are going into semantics when the problem is there is a way to play the game that is better than the other and that's the bigger issue

    "...if a few people are sooo bad they still lose even with it."

    You're exaggerating. I never said that VC isn't better, i just said it isn't that one big difference in the games that some killers claim it to be. There are so many casual players out there, all the comms and information won't help them if they do basic mistakes in chases. A random survivor squad will not suddenly be unbeatable because they may tell each other where the ruin totem is. Besides that, most teams are not sweating that hard (splitting up on gens, going for bodyblocks, constantly calling out the position of the killer). At least not from my experience. If it would be like that, no killer would win games anymore. I haven't lost a single killer game since they turned off MMR (i only did ~30 matches since then) at rank 1-2 and the reason for this is the matchmaking and the balancing issues. The killer side gained an advantage above your casual solo team which leds to heavy DC-fests, but he has a disadvantage to 4 good survivors (on voice comms) without weak link. That's the issue.

    I managed to enjoy solo when you stop expecting anything from other solo survivors. If nobody other than me are repairing gens i stop repairing them as well. I gather some bloodpoints as i can and move on to the next game. Why waste time repairing 2-3 gens alone when you are going to die anyways.

    I know there's the lobby dodge argument, but knowing whether you're going against a SWF or not would be so damn helpul.

    @VladTheLegend14

    My arguments are based off of what OP had presented to us. Nothing more.

    Literally nobody is arguing that SWF is better than SoloQ, I Agree. What I don't agree with is that they think Survivors in Solo Q are not bad, that what they lack is communication. To which I would argue that they are bad because there have been many instances (and I am sure I am not the only case) Where I bring Kindred, and survivors still will not come to unhook, even though they can see the killer is nowhere near.

    Also, this:

    Isn't survivor's fault. Even in SWF it is very hard to take aggro off of someone, if the killer is focused on killing one survivors to the point of throwing the game. That isn't something communication is going to fix, that is a tunneling problem that exists within the game.
