Why can't the 2.6 million crowns count towards other rewards?
We already got 2.6 million crowns!
Why can't they add towards the other challenges, dont we deserve it? :(
Especially since if we've already unlocked our crowns we can't contribute to the challenge anymore 😢

If we've pulled 2.6 million crowns thus far,
We can do it again, to pull 300k respectively 600k crowns.
Also, because BHVR wants us to keep playing.

Maybe a new map? We did this with groaning storehouse so why can’t we get a twins or trickster map in the near future?

They said it counts only unique crowns for each survivor.
So, if you have acquired a crown for Nea, Dwight, Meg and Kate, that's 4 points.
Even if you would play additional 70 games as Meg and collected 70 more crowns, you already unlocked it for her and it won't give additional points toward the goal, thus why a total amount of crowns isn't equal to unique ones.
But as always, the even is probably rigged anyway.

They wont make stuff for us not to get them, community goals are always hit and this is bhvr... they dont do work to not use it, they will give you it even if it's not good. Remember they say they work when they want to so...

Nope, not at all. They event gave old event items out for free, you know the bbq event items... back when events was more interesting

Reward unknown. Was given a participation reward instead. The fact we dont know the reward doesnt mean they didnt give us it for free regardless. Not much of an event though was it

In comparison to other events no, it wasnt as big or as advertised... that's just a fact, while there will always be bigger events etc. That doesnt mean we dont get the stuff anyway. But let's be real we will hit the goal, the games in such a bad state atm and people are still playing, we dont need to worry

That's kind of the problem, can we? I'd bet that 2.6M was mostly people that speed-ran getting crowns, meaning they don't have many/any left.

Then again, there 100% WAS a community goal once and it was NOT reached and they DIDNT gave it out then. And if i remember correctly, it WAS leatherface for free.

I'm pretty sure they just picked a date to release to spike marketing or something and it has nothing to do with number of anything.

This is the problem I see with this whole thing. Most of the actual unlocks were going to be frontloaded; people focused on getting all the crowns back when the event started. By this point, DBD's highly active players either do not have crowns left to unlock, or are not interested in unlocking crowns.
If they were going to handle the community goals like this, they should have released the charms and moved onto the next goalpost the second 500k crowns were collected. Letting 2.1m crown unlocks disappear into the void and then setting a new goal 6 days into the event that only players who haven't already finished all their crown hunting can contribute to seems doomed to fail; if not this time, then definitely for the next two goals.

It was a mistake for the twitter person to say that.
Notice that we didn't get the first reward on the day we (allegedly) reached 500K -- it happened on a predetermined day, after we'd (allegedly) already passed the goal by 4x. So, the rules of the "challenge" are that you have to hit a set number of crowns within a specific time window, but you're not told what the window is, and, if you go over the goal, that doesn't help you.
If they're going to release the rewards on a schedule, which I suspect they are, the thing to do is just say, "OMG, hooray, you met your goal!" and not give a specific number.
I think the point of that post was to brag about how engaged people are with the event, but it just drew attention to the fact that this challenge doesn't make sense.

Like most things DBD they just suck at communication. Pretty much they're going to give away all the cosmetics, they're just releasing them when they want but saying it's based on the community collecting crowns.

Devs confirmed on Twitter that excess crowns counted toward the next reward they just locked the rewards behind timers

It's just worrying how people who have already unlocked all crowns can't participate and contribute to these challenges anymore.

No, I remember. We got the standalone Huntress mask recolor as a participation. The reward for completing the challenge were cosmetics for David and Huntress
