So can we all agree this is one of the worst chapters DBD has released?

As a long term Resident evil and Dead by Daylight fan I have to say I am super dissatisfied with the recent chapter. With all the bugs, horrible map design, horrible killer design, and shady business practices I can in good conscience say I am enjoying this chapter or the Resident Evil cross over. This cross over has been one of my wettest dreams since I started playing before clown came out and now it’s become my worst nightmare. I can’t even enjoy when the bugs and lag are gone (In 9 or so months) because of how poor the new additions are. The map is objectively the worst map in DBD from a gameplay perspective as it’s red Forrest stacked on top of itself and made into a maze, and the killer is just so unfun to play as and against. Nemesis is just super boring, his power is just the same “strong 1v1” power we’ve gotten with killers like demo and pyramid head but you have to injure survivors 3 times beforehand. This would be okay if he was fun to play as but I can’t say he is. At the very least I like the survivors Jill and Leon. I think everything having to do with them is alright. I think I’d put nemesis is C tier and this overall chapter in F tier.

Take everything you said about killers and reverse it for my opinion lmao. I love PH and his power, it’s really fun to guess where a survivor is going when i can’t see them and that hit of dopamine when I get it right. Nemesis however removes that and only gets me a little. I play PH when I want to play DBD I will play Nemesis when I feel like playing the Nemesis skin.

Aside the bugs i loved the chapter, survivor perks were great, killer power and perks were meh, indoor maps are my favorite and rcpd is now my favorite one.

Although I agree with everything in the post, the set as far as I'm aware werent their choice. They didnt have a choice in having them as sets, nor did they have a choice of being original instead of having to be faithful to the games.

They had some choice in their designs (at least with Jills as they added more blood and gooo to her clothes then what’s in Re3make) but chose not to change either of their faces what so ever. That’s my only real complaint, the total lack of creativity or difference in their heads even though they are sets. Either make the torso and bottom sets and leave the head to be P3 or make them slightly different then stock.

And I already said they obviously had some leeway on what they could do, also I highly doubt capcom didn’t see a problem seeking a 10 dollar skin when 1/3 isn’t new. That’s something nu BHVR would do.

Boy people are fast to forget Binding of Kin

Idk I would think BHVR would have slightly more respect with such a huge license. Also this chapter is way way worse then binding of Kin anyways.

agreed, though the thing with nemesis is:

he's a beginner killer. he's more a walking tutorial than anything else, which is... ridiculous, frankly.

But that's what he is. there to show new players the basics, and then have them move on to others.

The chapter would been better had it brought two killers: one like that, and one better fleshed out

I will say that if they ever release a FNAF chapter I couldn’t care how bad it is or how game breaking it is, I would love it so so so much.

I have to 100% agree with you, they had the whole idea of making this chapter a tutorial for new players coming in from the RE license (only to push them all away with all the bugs and unplayable platforms lol) if they would have also brought in Mr. X or birkin and made them more unique this chapter would have been amazing!

    • Fun level of playing against Nemesis : HIGH
    • Fun level of playing Nemesis : MEDIUM
    • Survivors PERKS : MEDIUM to HIGH (Mine and Flashbang are really fun to use)
    • Killer PERKS : LOW to MEDIUM (Hysteria has some potential and Lethal Pursuer is good on certain killers/addons)
    • Map look : AMAZING
    • Map balance : MEDIOCRE (but who cares coz the look definitly outclass the balance for me, i'm a huge indoor map lover <3)

Honestly it's a pretty good chapter.

Worst chapter by far for me as its practically broken the game on console when playing as killer. I'm not an RE fan so no bias there, the survivors have annoying, rub it in the killers face perks and the map doesn't work. I still only play Oni and GF, so I've not been wowed by a new chapter since those ones.

I love BHVR for adding Nemesis. And I hate BHVR for what they did to him. I am still waiting for Nemesis to become playable against the first ranks!

This chapter made All-Kill (the chapter most people though was the most boring/bland) look like frickin' Hercules.

RE Chapter is solely sold based on nostalgia-sake and it's not worth the overpriced skins, game-breaking bugs and terrible balancing this chapter has brought.

RE fans need to stop and think about how this chapter not only ruined its own entry, but also ruined the 5th anniversary event for console players.

    Shame for sure.

When was it that pretty much all survivor noises were completely silent for like 6 weeks again? That was a fun one.

The set scheme they did was absolutely sneaky and it made me lose all respect for them (or what was left of it o.o)

Performance wise the chapter is complete trash. But having played Nemesis on my friend her account, the killer itself is quite fun imo.

Darkness Among Us was pretty bad with launch Legion and Ormond literally hard crashing consoles, and the map even stayed up for a while. This chapter isn't that bad in comparison since personally i can avoid the performance issues mostly by being on a next gen console.

And i see people mention tons of bugs everytime but no one ever mentions what bugs lol. Been playing since the chapter dropped and throughout the anniversary event and i haven't seen a single of these huge quantities of bugs people keep mentioning. Are we counting lag or de-sync into bug territory now? Or zombie AI derping out during a game? I legit have no idea what bugs are we talking about. The ONE bug i did notice was during the start of the event where the game would boot you out if you tried spending the 500k BP but that got solved pretty quickly if i recall. Survivors being silent on the ground have been in the game before the RE chapter so it wasn't part of it.

"This chapter isn't that bad in comparison since personally i can avoid the performance issues mostly by being on a next gen console."

"personally i can avoid the performance issues mostly by being on a next gen console"

This is the disconnect between your experience and others' experiences. Those who cannot play on a next gen console cannot avoid the performance issues.

The game's performance got much, much worse for a lot of people with the RE chapter. The game stutters constantly, frames drop like mad, areas of the map flash white (or the entire screen flashes in some cases), and it likes to crash on the Switch. The RPD map was disabled for a while because it was causing systems to crash. A lot of people use the collective term "bugs" to refer to these issues because it's easier than writing them out and specifying that in this case they're not necessarily talking about pre-RE performance issues but the new issues brought on with the RE chapter.

Well good thing they're already getting a fix ready for mid chapter then. A bit ways off but it's something.

This gets said every chapter tbh. But the killer is awful to go against, so yeah I’m not a fan.

One of the worst? Not even close lol.
