keys with zero charges can no longer open the hatch.
Do you think this is the final change to keys or will there be more to come?

Theres probably going to be more, this is just a step in the right direction, now that you can actually counter keys with perks like franklins

I usually hide my keys already. I placed them somewhere in the corner of the map or in a chest.

This is just an adjustment due to the Franklin's change we got with RE chapter.
Keys (and Moris again) are still being changed according to the 5th anniversary stream.

Thats why my counter is the best. The person that brings the key will absolutely not get to use it. Wish more killers took this approach, people might stop bringing keys

if you mean slugging then I get you. But if I usually hide it in the beginning, I prefer a chest. So if I go down others can hopefully find it and use it.

Huge nerf to solo keys, barely a nerf at all to SWF when one brings a key and another brings a map.

No. Tunneling. Doesnt counter the key, its a mindgame so the key user doesnt want to bring it again. Especially if it happens everytine they do

Solo players are going to continue to be hurt by people who stop playing, if they even start at all, just so they can get hatch.

Honestly if they incentivized staying in a toxic game versus dcing, it would also help.
I dont know what they have planned, but an instant pop of the hatch isn't exactly neat. I dont know any lock except the trunk of my car that pops up lol

I don't think it's keys that needed the change as much as the hatch. Hatch shouldn't spawn until there is one person left. And then the trophy for all four escaping via hatch needs to go. I'm tired of losing games because one person camps it while I try to get the last gen done, and theyre found and the hatch is instantly closed. They screw us both over. It actually helps the killer in a lot of situations, not that any killer would ever admit that.

Biggest fix is very easy for keys.
Hatch should only spawn if only 1 survivor left alive, there fixed.
I dont understand why devs wont do this.
Also if 2 survivor left alive, with gens to be done, not doing gens after 1 min, should make endgame collapse to start.
So easy to fix problems

At least they immediately fixed Franklin's in 5.1.0 with the whole key situation.

Rarely as a solo player(almost 3k hours) do i get screwed over by someone camping the hatch. For me its hard tunneling and face camping and their great value walmart servers creating screw ups for the killer capitalize on(ie: getting a m1 hit when i'm 10 feet from the window even with lithe). Plenty of people don't get the same problems as others regardless of the role we play though.
If you take away all 4 players escaping, you cut off a big part of the game, and create an even bigger problem for (solo)survivors. Because at least half the games I play, the exit gates spawn close enough you can see between. Even on bigger maps. I almost always know where the hatch is, next to an exit gate or somewhere between them. There is no deviation from this, since it is a constant(at least for me). Which honestly, all of the above makes the game really stale.

I have 1,500 hours as a solo survivor and I'm screwed over like this regularly. Though there has been more face camping during this event. It kinda makes me laugh.

You still will need to pick it up to use it, if the killer realizes (as in the pickup animation) you dropped it, they'll make a point in watching that area, and chase you off from grabbing it back up. It takes just one smack on the survivor in a chase down.

Most killer don't really pay attention to that detail honestly lol. Unless they are real sweaty, or attentive.

That would just help those 2 survivors if they have 3 genned themself. Not that good idea anymore, right?

In my solo games, the last 2 survivors usually dont attempt to do gens, and playing immersed, waiting for the other one to die and the killer searching for one, can take 10+ minutes.
You see there is no point the game continue when there is only 2 survivors left because impossible to do gens anyway, so why waste time?
I can imagine for the killer not much fun to find the last 2 immersed player in the end.
Of course sometimes one of us giving up because of boredom, but dont forget this is a flaw that can be exploited, immersed way you can waste so much time, waiting for other to die

Tunneling already happens every game, I doubt it will change anyoneโs choice to bring a key or not.
Canโt believe you tunnel because someone wanted to use something that is IN THE GAME. Just dodge the lobby

DC penalties are off rn, if you donโt want to lose a pip or anything u can just dc in the loading screen

The counter to that counterplay is to give the key to the best runner on the team to draw the Killer into a long chase. ;)

But thats on the killer, i find myself soo often in the situation where are only me and another survivor is left, and i get found because i do gens, and the killer just hooks me and let the other one escape.
Some then claim in endgame chat that they would rather go for the other one and let me go, but couldnt find him and wanted it to end. And this happens most of the time.
So, killers just encourage hidding, because the guy who doesnt is the guy who dies.

But i guess noone will ask you. I play only solo, and they tunnel so often, there is no point in asking why, because the answer is in most cases: winning. Yours might be different, but it doesnt matter if you tunnel someone because he has a key, teabaggs, or has a pride charm, or plays a certain character, or just to win. The result is the same, and the reasons exchangable.

Well keys used to disappeaer when they had zero charges, so this is fine. I am sure the keys will be nerfed further since it is one of the things the community is complaining about the most.

This is a poor bandaid fix. It still comes down to you needing to bring Franklin's just to counter keys, instead of doing the smart thing and nerfing/removing keys.

Not always, I had a couple of Killers let me go for the very reason that I went back for my teammates and sacrificed myself to let the other get out. Not often. But it does happen once in a Blue Moon.

Well they said they'll add some Mori elements into the Killers basekit, but what excactly, we do not know.
