Please stop holding victor the whole game
Coming from a twins main and somebody that just played against 3 time with teammates that did this, it basically hinders you're entire team. You're giving free information to the killer and just turned the game into a 3v1. If the player playing them is good at m1 killers, it makes it so challenging to get out of a 3 gen strat.

You can't hold him the whole game, after a minute or so, you can recall him
16 -
So many people do this, it's insane. Even had several games when someone did this in a 3v1 situation with Ruin still up. I think it's one of those "My favourite streamer did this in a very specific situation, so that means it's an extremely advanced strategy that's always good" kind of a thing.
10 -
No what I mean is the Charlotte realizes what they are doing and just don't call him back because in many situation it actually benefits her
16 -
I think it is more people find running around with him hilarious and don't care about losing.
6 -
They are giving him a piggy back ride

No holding onto victor is actually what you do against twins (the other thing is always work in pairs). If you try to throw victor off and Charlotte is anywhere nearby you're just giving them a free down. The problem comes from soloQ because you're supposed to stay away from the rest of your team if you decide to hold onto victor and many don't either because they don't know the strategy or general oblivousness and then the twins player does get value. It probably is something like they heard that's how you counter twins but then don't realize there's extra steps to it they're not doing.

Like most strategy's it depends on the situation.
Most of the time you're harming your team by making yourself useless
If everyone else is injured catching Victor and holding on to him might be all your team needs to reset
7 -
Then she is killer without power. I'll take 100/100 times that instead of that little rascal running around a map.
Also people who does that are usually pretty good runners and it doesn't benefit killer at all when they run already repaired gens so other survivors can easily repair remaining gens.
3 -
Pretty good summary. You get my vote.
The situations you're talking about are when survivors can't loop a m1 killer, or if Charlotte is ambushing the hostage taker.
0 -
So you would rather have one survivor essentially afk just so she doesn't have a power? That's not a very smart strategy unless she's committed to the person holding victor, she can leave him on that survivor making them useless and down another before she even calls him back and leave you with 2 survivors scrambling to save the day because some genius thinks kidnapping victor would help them get the gens done
3 -
Well, commit to survivor with Victor- 3 survivors working gens- 2 or 3 gens done
Chase survivor who is repairing- he can run you atleast minute because you have no power while two survivors are doing gens - 2 gens done.
It's lose-lose situation to her. No matter what, there will be atleast 2 gens done.
Do same again and congrats, you have 2 hooks in game, both first or second phase and lost 4 gens. Good luck trying to do it third time when those 2 survivors just finish last gen and you need to camp to secure that 1 kill.
Holding Victor is better idea than give it back to her so she can catch you even faster and patrol gens at the same time.
1 -
You're confused. I'm talking about when she leave the guy holding victor while she chases the others and the guy holding victor does nothing
0 -
Which would be even more of a reason not to do it because the good looper wouldn't be looping if she just doesn't chase them
0 -
its pretty beneficial with multiple injured people because if you throw him off she gets him back in 6 seconds and can go slug everyone
4 -
You know there is 4 survivors? One holding Victor, 1 looping Charlotte and 2 doing gens. What a great way to apply pressure and playing m1 killer without power. Even when you catch that one looping survivor, those 2 other survivors had atleast 2 gens or more done. Then you need to find next one while that hooked survivor is already unhooked and there is still 2 survivors doing gens.

Its fun though.

Holding him hostage prevents the killer from getting easier slugging situations
Majority of team injured and the healthy survivor is holding victor hostage. Now you can't slug as easily with Victor and you had to do it old fashion style
2 -
The way you are explaining this is as if all of the 4 survivors are God loopers and the situation is perfect for them. More often than not the first person to get attacked by victor won't hold them. Survivors make mistake against m1 killers which can lead to easy hits all it takes is for one other person to be injured in the 3v1 for the slowdown to take effect. They don't wanna heal, easy down, they heal, then they are wasting time and you have extra time to get them or down the guy. Holding victor may have some benefits but in the long run it doesn't help
0 -
That's very true. Although imo it's fairly easy to shut down Twins slugging if everyone is injured by grouping up and their recent nerf usually guarantees a kick.
1 -
Its hard to understand that people still think that holding Victor is a good idea. Charlotte might not have a Power, but she is still a 4,6m/s Killer who can chase like every other Killer with that Speed, while one Survivor is basically taken out of the game. So you have half the team occupied.
This only benefits the Twin-player.
1 -
The way you named Victor made me laugh.
0 -
Mass healing and WGLF is a counter to the slugging but at the same time mass grouping to get said heals can also put you in slugging situations too
I personally don't have much of an issue kicking Victor but I've witnessed many people have issues with doing that, even after the change
0 -
I did it when the killer almost had everyone slugged because they kept giving victor back. we all recovered and the twins player lost.. there is a time and place to do it.
1 -
That dingo stole my baby
1 -
People out here really thinking it's imposible to m1 someone
Against a good killer turning the game into a 3v1 in most circumstances is just a bad idea.
Power or no power
1 -
Holding Victor is the most effective way to counter the Twins. Not being able to loop Charlotte is a teammate problem, not a holding Victor problem. I don't think people should play poorly because others might also play poorly. If you don't hold Victor, Twins just gets him back immediately and gets a free hit anyway. It's going to be a slow game regardless
2 -
Honestly running away from your team, dragging charlotte around while having viktor on you and doing this when there's 1 or 2 people appart from you in your team who are injured helps a lot since charlotte becomes a M1 killer you can force ######### loops on. If you instantly throw viktor off, letting charlotte get him back to finish you up even faster than before or injure someone else, that helps charlotte snowball if survivors aren't playing properly, your best bet is to hold onto him and check if charlotte is going for you or someone else, playing it as safe as possible.
0 -
Not like its the best strategy to counter victor, keep crushing him so that you help the killer then
0 -
If your teammates are injured and they need time to heal, it may be worth holding onto victor while they heal. Or if you feel that you are going to get ambushed by charlotte then hold onto victor until you can confirm that you're safe. Otherwise it's best to get victor off.

Surprised that they didn't make it more like mend wound, Victor downs you after a minute of being unchased
0 -
I'm still not convinced. Admittedly I'm not a Twins main or even face her that often, but I'm going to last a lot longer against an m1 killer rather than facing Victor. The killer will suddenly find it a lot harder to snowball seeing as though getting downs are more difficult against good loopers or just from survivor holding W.
Survivors can find time to heal up before Victor procs again and/or do gens. If Charlotte chases the person with Victor, she's literally just an M1 killer. If she chases a healthy survivor, she has to get 2 M1's as an m1 killer or eventually get the 2nd hit when Victor is recalled.
So I'm not convinced. People crushing Victor instantly give the killer another hit/down for free, and quickly. People holding Victor give others a much easier time in a chase and for the rest of the survivors, respite.
1 -
But the killer can literally call him back at anytime they choose , what you're saying would be effective if she couldn't call him back but she can, you might as well be slugged with victor right there doing nothing while Charlotte is killing your team , all it takes is one other survivor to go down for there to be one gen being worked on, one holding victor , one on hook and one going for the rescue along with being able to track anyone the victor kidnapper runs near I mean at least if you were slugged you could be picked up and get back to gens. In this scenario if Charlotte wanted she could camp the hook and there's no way the gens would be done with just 2 survivors trying to rush gens and you would be down a teammate with multiple gens still up, or she could just call victor back at anytime and continue to play like normal because this isn't even a counter to the twins it's solely depending on what the killer feels like doing they hold the power to leave you being afk essentially or just call him back and slug your team while you haven't been touching a gen the whole time and not even being chased for that matter how in the world could anyone think this strategy is legit?

I haven't played Twins yet, and I have played against her only a handful of times. But the wiki clearly states.
- Recall timer: 30 seconds
- This refers to how long Victor has to be attached to a Survivor before Charlotte can recall him at will.
Charlotte can't recall Victor whenever she wants if a survivor is holding onto Victor. Only after 30 sec. she can.
Also Charlotte can't camp the hook:
- It is impossible to voluntarily switch between the Killers or for Charlotte to release Victor when either of them is standing within a specific radius of the following Props:
- within 16 metres of a Hook
AFAIK based on this thread, the only viable tactic to hold onto Victor latched onto you is when your other teammates are all injured, and gives them time to hopefully heal.
0 - Recall timer: 30 seconds
-
Charlotte can't release victor at the hook but she absolutely can camp the hook you're misinterpreting that and 30 seconds of doing nothing is the same as being slugged for thirty seconds my point is she can choose to make that longer easily or just call him back she solely holds the power over whether you keep him or not

A smart Twins player won’t though. I don’t. I want the kidnapper to realise (and regret) the big mistake they’ve made by putting MORE pressure on the others in the team because (for all intents and purposes) the kidnapper may as well be self caring in a corner indefinitely.
1 -
Provided the kidnapper already knows where the rest of the team is and stays as far away as possible so they don’t reveal their locations to Charlotte.
1 -
I can tell you from my own personal experience that even though chases are a little more difficult without a power, kidnappers turn the game into easy mode, especially when they accidentally give away the location of teammates that are out of position, and give me a free hit before they reach a loop in time. Pretty much the second I get another down with Charlotte and start chasing anybody else I see that was stupid enough to remain close by once the down occurred, the kidnapper gives up because at that point (if 4 survivors are still in the game), without unbreakable, only ONE survivor remains to BOTH do gens AND help the slug back up if the kidnapper DOESN’T get rid of Victor.
2 -
Only if the Charlotte is dumb enough to be lead on a chase that long. Most killers realise at the back of their mind who’s free of pressure, and who isn’t, and will regularly re-apply pressure on those humping gens.
Seriously (and I cannot emphasise this enough) on the Oceanic servers (I’m in Australia) there are extreme sweat squads. And I do genuinely, legitimately mean hardcore survivor teams. Despite this I’m yet to have a game where a kidnapper hasn’t turned the game into easy mode for me, DESPITE how good at chases the remaining 3 survivors are.
I genuinely HOPE in my Twins games that at 5 gens at the beginning that the first survivor I latch Victor onto will be idiotic enough to take themselves out of the game.
2 -
It’s totally unnecessary. As long as Charlotte ignores the Kidnapper, they’re creating pressure on the other survivors. And Charlotte can always keep tabs on where they are anyway, to either recall Victor whenever he’s critically needed, or to spot if the Kidnapper might accidentally cross Charlottes path for a sneaky down. But I’m most cases it’s best to just let them keep Victor, and ignore them.
2 -
Somebody gets it👍

It took me awhile. I hated Twins at first, thinking they were the absolute worst designed killers in the game. Now I’m amazed at how deep they actually are.

There are times where keeping Victor hostage is by far the better play.
If more than one survivor injured and Victor jump onto a third one it's best if you keep him until your team reset by healing, otherwise you have a good chance of giving a solid 2-3men slug to Charlotte.
Also I mostly play in SWF with people of all skill. If I know a good looper is being chase and I have Victor I'll keep him so my team mate can waste lot of time while the two other hammer gens. The weaker survivor tend to get downed quite easily VS Victor but can still manage to run a basic M1 killer for a solid 30-40s, it's situational but keeping Victor hostage can be the best way to prevent quick down or slug.
