Growing increasingly tired of Huntress...
Can we just freaking fix the hitboxes already?
Sorry but latency aint the only freaking problem whens it happens THIS often, the fact that the hitbox is so big is what allows even the tiniest latency to hit around corners.
Ive ran across this very issue on other games and the hitbox was alway the main problem, its too big and the latency shows it.
Its beyond me how there was one single attempt at fixing it and they just gave up right away.

If they try to fix her hitboxes, she won't hit anything.

No it wont, unless they do it poorly, this can be fixed.
Freaking Nemesis and Deathslinger are the proof of that, their hitboxes are way smaller and they can hit stuff just fine.

When you get a match without latency and her hatchets are actually fair it can be one of the most fun killers to play against. But yeah, latency makes her incredibly unfair sometimes.
They did shrink her hitbox once before but quickly reverted it. Though as someone who actually played her back then I thought it was a fair trade consdiering there was still a latency problem.

The thing is they didnt even try, one change and they gave up right away rather than actually fixing the problem.

Her hitboxes are fine. Don´t believe me? Just play as her against survivors that actually know how to dodge her hatchets.

Well that one change caused hatches to go through survivors and not register as a hit.

her big ass hitboxes also work against her because her hatchets sometimes get sucked into the event horizon

Nemesis' hitboxes are borderline random with how they work in general(Its possible at times to hit a survivor the blue line never touched by shimming left or right) let alone at short loops.
So I wouldn't call his accurate to say the least.

I drew this a while back from memory (crude, I know) when I couldn't track down the devstream where they showed off the hitbox.
But considering this is the hitbox of a hatchet before latency even comes into question is anything but fair.
Add on the fact that I regularly see insanely good Huntress players like Umbra acknowledge how unearned and questionable her hits can be sometimes and its rather clear.
I mean, 90% of huntress players don't aim at the player, they aim at slightly behind them to their back as its almost always guaranteed.

I asked my friend who mains Huntress about this and he agreed with me that her hitboxes need to be fixed.
I feel like if her new hitboxes makes it too hard to land shots or whatever, then they should buff her in some other way to compensate.

If they try the same thing again, the result will be the same.

They are gonna end up like Blizzard if they keep doing things this way.
I mean just look at how WoW their most popular game lost a massive amount of players right after a new patch, they share similar traits, not addressing issues, being blind of player feedback, etc.

That's what happens when you're ontop. Remember how Xbox was super against crossplay on the 360 with PS3 because they were leading? Then next gen Sony was ontop and was heavily against cross play while Xbox were constantly pushing it.
If you're the king of your genre you can be arrogant and ignore feedback/get lazy.
We need a FF14 equivalent for dbd lol.

The "latency sucks part" yeah, it does. Never played an online game with projectile weapons that has ever had the consistent, long running desync that dbd has had for years. ;thinking emoji;

I imagine its because demo is rather large and even if the hit is off he is at least still close to you enough for it to be believeable.
You can have hatchets bursting into chunks around 90 degree turns in 40 ms games with Huntress.
The large hitbox on the hatchets, combined with latency can make for some absurdly unfair looking hits. Getting a hit on the very edge of a survivors hitbox will look like it was 5+ meter away on the survivors screen. That's probably why you hear more about it. It can even happen with Slinger. How many times have you seemingly been shot around a wall by him?

There's also the fact that the projectile is spinning so a 100% to model hitbox would always make it extremely inconsistent is the main issue.
That's before you consider the fact that round hitboxes have better hit detection in DbD due to how the devs have developed the game.

It is most likely latency. Since Dedicated Servers launched, Huntress is one of my least favorite Killers to go against, before, she was one of my favorites. Especially if you live in a Region where people connect who dont have a Server next to their own Region. So the Killer ends up with 100+ Ping (at best, most likely 150+) and you see really weird Hatchet-Hits.

I got hit through a wall yesterday with those stupid axes. Also the fact when ive already jumped the window and started running they seem to get me with their main weapon ( goes to all killers) Hit boxes are broken.
Ive noticed this as well when i play a killer i hit survivors when im not supposed to.

Had a huntress yesterday,and she was clearly aware of how terrible the latency and the hitbox of the hatchet combined are. She threw the hatchets so far from me around the walls but knowing it'd hit she kept going at it. Really hate going against her since servers were introduced.

True as that may be, I'd argue that Trickster's desync is probably even worse than Huntress's, can't count the times I've been injured through a solid wall, let alone around a corner.

There no way you played it back then because if you did you would know SURVIVOURS COULDNT BE HIT MID VAULT ANIMATION. yes caps is annoying but it needs to be stressed how badly they messed up those hitboxes. Huntresses also is affected by her jatchet hitboxes as terrain will frequently block her own hatchets.
That and 90% of modern maps have been stealth nerfing huntress with time sinks like breakable walls and increased number of indoor and large maps. If they come back to huntress nad her hitboxes I hope they do sething about how awful she is to play in maps like hawkins lery rpd etc.

I was aware of how broken it was, it was mainly because the devs just wouldn't fix survivors. Like how a survivor can be crouched in a animation like healing or repairing gens. But their hitbox would still be standing.
It was both a buff and a nerf, allowing her to get more shots over loops and stuff. If the hitboxes weren't so ######### it would have been a great change. People moaned about the wrong part of the change. If they'd made a stink about survivor hitboxes we'd probably have a lot more fun and interesting killer right now.

It's fine on our screen. Hitboxes aren't the problem, they never changed. It's depended how far everyone is located from the server.
And i'm sure no one really want's peer-to-peer back.

Deathslinger's hitboxes are not the best, if you ask me. And still, doesn't change the fact that we are talking about BVHR.
Use this as a base for a fix and next thing you know Huntress is making spear gun sounds when she throws hatchets.
