Lobby mindgames ok or not?

For example none of the four survivors have an item, so you slap on a key until the last seconds then you remove it. This only in hope that killer removes one of his perks for Franklins.

What do you think about these things fair or not?

Do you have another mindgame for lobby? Some people switch survivors back and forward with different items on each..either this is a mindgame or they can't decide what survivor to choose?

As a rule, I don't care what the survivors take with them. However, if I notice that 2 or more keys appear shortly before the start of the game, then some survivors may get a more intense cuddle. XD

    Just play the game already.

Stop waiting for the lobby to hit 60 seconds and ready up. I already know that the Survivor who intentionally stalls out to do crap like that or does a last second switch tends to be the one I target the most anyways.

Jokes on you, I don't even look at the lobby while waiting.

Don't know if this counts but I usually equip a broken key last second to bait a tunnel

I'm indifferent as I use the perks I use and don't switch up when I see certain things in the lobby

All you do against me at least is activate Sweaty Tippy mode. All of my normal "sportsman" rules with not tunneling or camping or slugging are no longer in play if you switch to a last second key or something like that. If you want to dirty pool, let's dirty pool. Fudge around and find out. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Etc etc.

Or I do this to bait franklin's demise making them basically waste a perk slot

It's so funny to me, how far will people go to get an edge in a game like this. Ridiculous.

It's not what should be happening as killers should be able to set up.

To fix this both sides need to be locked in at 30s and if anyone leaves they get a lobby time out of say 5 mins. Survivors cannot change items and killers from 30's to 10's can still change perks. This give 20s to set up for what is being brought into the match.

It's the only fair way I see of doing this as both sides have been problematic by either dodging lobbies or switching items. The game is what it is and that should be accepted by both sides.

To be fair mindgames are everywhere in this game and it's part of the game. In chases it's fair but in lobby idk since killer have no time to react when done in the last seconds. But it can still be done. And killer can as you see react by tunneling etc, and that is also fair in my mind.

I will never understand people's need to label bugs/exploits/clearly taking advantage of systems as 'techs/mindgames'. How is this a mindgame? It's literally taking advantage of the fact that you can't react in time in the lobby so you can do something dumb like this. If I said I would give you a million dollars if you said sure, but you had to react in the next .00001 of a millisecond, did I just mind game you out of a million dollars?

Currently I'm running BBQ, Noed, Bloodwarden and Franklins regardless of what the survivors bring into the game, so let them late-switch if they want, I'll have my answer to that equipped already :D.

killers when they load into a pre game lobby and see items.

Jk but Fr some people are like that and I don't know why. It's just an item. It's just a game. I personally don't care what people bring into a match. I play to have fun for myself. If someone wants to last second switch or constantly change characters, good on them. If you are afraid of certain items then keep the perks equipped to deal with them like you would if everyone had said item.

I did the same as killer sometime when Moris where still a threat, i would use a shroud of separation and watch as some survivor disconnected.

About this topic, aren't there not only really Lightborn or Franklin's demise for killer to counter visible things on survivor? Or do people equip sloppy butcher against medkits? And in regards to gen slowdown I think killer would either play with or without it independent of the survivors load out.

Go for it, but personally if I see keys or 4 flashlights I don't equip franklins or lightborn, I just equip the strongest addons and a mori and wish them luck

The problem with quickswitching or "Lobby mindgames" is that it works only for one side.

When i see a surv quickswitching to a key, or multiple survs quickswitching to flashlights, i might dogde/quit the lobby, no matter on what side. It's just bad sports and shows very early your real intensions. And i don't want to be part of that.

I think the lobby needs some improvements but item swapping isn't a big deal (or much of a mind game). After all, the survivors can still pick up items in the trial.

While it does seem unfair to the killer that only survivors can do these "mindgames" etc, the killer can at least see it while the survivors have no idea what addons the killer is going to use, or who the killer is. So survivors can go in with medkits and end up with Plague etc. All in all it's not that unfair I think.

I think the pettiness of some ppl will shine in any environment. If people have to try that hard to make themselves feel like they’ve won something, they can do whatever they need to make themselves feel better.

  • Katzengott
    Katzengott Member Posts: 1,210

That doesn't make a difference as it isn't possible anymore to switch the killer.

And if the survs quickswitch, the killer can't even react with his loadout.

Killers have an advantage at the loading screen they can see the survivors and what they're bringing. Last second switching is whatever it removes an additional advantage that the killer has.

I think the only unfair one is the last second switch and builds should be locked in to give the killer time to prepare.

Otherwise the good old green key mind game is a pretty funny gamer move lol.

I just dislike quick swapping in general for both sides.

I don’t think that is fair that the killer is able to see the survivor items…

so I’m ok with switching in the last second.

    I never do it tho.

but it doesn’t bother me when I’m playing killer

Killers have perks like lightborne which why would you run if theres no flashlight?
