The Legendary Worst Add-On in Dead by Daylight
There are legends that say that there are add-ons that nerf your Power in exchange for Bloodpoints. These add-ons are legendary in the fact of how poorly designed they were, and how no one will ever seriously run them. Then you have the legends of the add-ons that do the bare minimum for Killers and it makes you wonder why they're considered "Ultra Rare" add-ons when they do jack crap.
But among all of those add-ons stands one lone add-on above them all. One that shows the integrity of the developers of this game. One that truly gives us the single most useless feature in the game!
S.T.A.R.S. Field Combat Manual
A manual of compiled S.T.A.R.S. close-range combat knowledge, edited by Chris Redfield.
- After Zombies hit a Survivor, their Aura turns yellow for 6 seconds.
Truly the greatest work of the developers of this game, particularly the ones who made Nemesis. Truly a remarkable masterpiece of genius that in no way can be completely useless because zombies already tell you where a Survivor is. No, this, this is peak Dead by Daylight add-ons, folks.
There's nothing, absolutely nothing, that can top how god awful this add-on is.
I know that add-ons like Speed Limiter and Memento Blades are memes (Meme is in the name of one of them), but they can never truly trump an add-on that completely wastes your slot because of lack of any existing benefit to it. An add-on that takes away something in exchange for another thing will always be better than an add-on that does nothing but waste a slot.
I may have made a thread about this before, I don't know, I don't care. But I still want to expose people to the world of Nemesis' putrid, rancid add-ons that deserve to be in the trash (for the most part) because of how little they all do and how poorly designed they are.
I hope when the next chapter's mid-chapter releases, all of Nemesis' add-ons are reworked (sans Serotonin Injector, Mikhail's Eye, Marvin's Blood, NE-a Parasite and Depleted Ink Ribbon), because they are just horrible.

I swear BHVR goes big brain mode when they made Blight and Trickster's add-ons (both release Trickster and new Trickster add-ons are awesome other than a few), and then went brainless mode for most of Twins and Nemesis's add-ons.
Twins and Nemesis's base-kits are still enjoyable IMO but he still deserves an add-on pass.

Even worse than S.T.A.R.S. Badge? Y'know the 12 second exposed?
Atleast this can show you which direction they went... if they somehow got hit far away from you by a Zombie of all things.

Oh yeah this add-on is a big joke, this is terrible. BUT, it may be a super bad ultra rare add-on, it doesn't nerf you !

I'll come with them. The two ultra rare Nurse add-ons. These are the worst ultra rare add-ons of the game (change my mind), and the dull bracelet (yellow add-on that reduces her blink range without reducing the charging time).
I don't know if this last add-on is worst than the Speed Limiter (imo yes, because Nurse has the worst mobility in the game for quite nothing, Bubba can, at least, M1 people).

Iridescent Umbrella Badge is worse than this. The chances of you actually getting to use it are close to zero. At least this one can help you a little bit if you miss a zombie hitting someone.

this addon is actually useful in theory. You got a lot going on as a killer, and sometimes the zombies do stupid stuff and lead you to absolutely nothing. Seeing a zombie that's been peed on gives you more reliable intel from the zombies. But in practice though, I feel like if I'm busy enough to not notice a zombie hitting a survivor normally, I'm not gonna see the highlighted zombie either.

Amanda's Secret is worse IMO. That actively takes away something from the Pig and replaces it with something way worse. Field combat manual does not do that at least.

Amanda's Secret is a better Jill's Sandwich. It removes your ability to see the Jigsaw Boxes, but grants you a notification of when a Survivor takes the bear trap off and lets you see their aura.
Jill's Sandwich just lets you see the aura of a Survivor when they open a crate, which is purely up to chance on if you'll even see it.
Field Combat Manual, meanwhile, just highlights a Zombie when it hits a Survivor. When it hits a Survivor.
When it does one of the rarest things that can happen in this game.

Yeah the Nemesis red addon with 12 seconds exposed status effect, I mean no one will ever get use out of it. They understood that 15 seconds exposed was a joke on old iron maiden, and they do this?

Amanda's Secret is not a better Jill's sandwich. Amanda's Secret is, in my opinion, a contender for weakest Killer add-on in the game (excluding the add-ons that deliberately nerf a Killer in exchange for bloodpoints). Losing the Jigsaw Box auras is HUGE and not worth the six seconds of aura searching you get four-five times during the match at periods that you have no control over.

makes a killer better at 3 things, drastically makes them worse at one of the most important aspects of the kit by removing all turning and margin for error
