How would you feel about Steam workshop support for non-cheating cosmetic mods?
After seeing some cool mods like new character cosmetics, old animations etc, I'm thinking it would be really cool if BHVR officially supported the ones that don't give you any sort of advantage in game. And it would be nice to be able to easily download them through the steam workshop.
I haven't installed any mods myself and I've heard BHVR are looking at stopping people from using them, although I don't know too much about that. But they just look like they could really add much more enjoyment to the game, and would be really cool if BHVR made more of a thing of it.
What do you think?

Why would they support cosmetic mods when they can just release these cosmetics themselves for money?

I would like that. Someone will eventually create a mod which brings back a thing or two from the past. And you know how it goes:
If it has "old", GeneralV is sold.

Maybe they could just support the more meme-y cosmetic mods, like ones they wouldn't release in the store.

Yeah there are mods to bring back the old map lightings so coldwind looks all gloomy again and macmillan is more blue, which I would love to use.
Also I imagine lots of people would want to keep these original character models and I'm sure it would be a mod people would make.

That would honestly be cool one of my favourite aspects of workshop mods is changing character models that's why I love left 4 dead mods

What kind of meme-y cosmetics? Things like Spongebob or 2B would have license problems. If you're talking about onesies or bikinis... well, BHVR already releases those frequently.

Why only cosmetics😏
If you can get moderators to approve every submitted mod (some people can submit without approval, much like on these forums you get "Trusted" role), you could do custom TR and Chase music, or something as harmless as switching out random words from Power descriptions, etc...

Then you can count me in!

The ones that let you play as killers as a survivor would be fun to play around with, and if people want to keep using the original character models that could be a good one. Good point though, I didn't think about the licensing problems around those types of skins.
Also retexturing some of the in game items and being able to make the flashlight beam shine different colours would be cool.

I'd prefer bethesda-style mod support so that console players can have access to the same thing. It also makes it easier to regulate, given the developers would have total control over the library.

I don't think i will ever use a mod for cosmetics because I'm the only one who can see it.
But it's so nice to see such an amazing content there. shame that talented people are going to lose their hard work because of cheaters.

Because they're clearly not giving us speedo David anytime soon and action had to be taken.

This is actually a nice suggestion. Gotta give our console brothers and sisters a chance to enjoy the fun.
As long as I get something from the past, I am happy.

I mean, no reason not to be in for this. However, It would have to go over particular cosmetics so that BHVR doesn't lose money if others could see them (aka there would be little to no reason to buy BHVR's cosmetics).

Old....Legion?

There are limits, my friend. Old Legion is a line which we shouldn't cross. So is Old DS, and a few others.
A small, and annoying, minority.
