A few ideas of mine.

Before I begin, it's been a while since I was here last. How are things? Hopefully, things have been going smoothly. :)

Anyways, I wish to present a few ideas ranging from game mechanics to DLC. Please remember to be civil when discussing, please.

The Elephant in the Room: Community Toxicity.

This sort of thing is why I am too nervous to play and try out new content. Before you say, "Just ignore them," it's hard for me. I am not alone on this and we must think of them. Heck; I saw a video of an SWF Twitch streamer who tossed some nasty comments towards a killer who happened to be streaming at the same time and I felt secondhand emotional pain. It's time to fix the problem once and for all and I have a few ideas:

  • Let there be a section of settings for the post-game chat. Some options can include turning on a preset word filter that includes different spellings made to avoid censorship, typing in your own words to block out, and turning off the post-game chat altogether.
  • Since the game uses dedicated servers for public games, do give them the ability to flag someone if they use demeaning language like slurs. After a few of these flags have been put onto one's account, that's when they suffer the consequences starting with something like a 15-minute ban. There is a post-game reporting system, but many reports go under the radar and are not taken care of fast enough.
  • Punish streamers in-game. It may look like a stretch because whatever the streamer says and does is outside of the game. Hear me out: There will always be a slew of people who is not aware of DBD and they hit many sites to see what the game is all about. What if their first impression was from a streamer who calls others the R-word and their account is in good standing? For some, it will take about 100 good instances to erase that bad one. Bad streamers, especially those sponsored by the game, need to be held accountable. (A huge shoutout to the dev team behind Tower Unite for punishing a sexist streamer by banning him in their public servers.)

Matchmaking:

I do appreciate the efforts being made to make this better, but it's not perfect. Since I don't play very often, half of my games are not evenly matched. My idea to fix this is to match the survivor levels with the killers. Say that you got yourself a new killer and you level them up to 6. This means you get two perks that are most likely at level 1. When the killer initiates the match-making, they will get survivors at or close to the level 6 the killer has on top of their overall rank. That way, everyone will be on an even playing ground when it comes to the allowed perks. If this ever comes into play, I hope to never run into a team of survivors using a full set of purple and green perks while playing as an under-leveled killer stuck with mostly yellow perks.

DLC Ideas:

It's time for something a bit more fun. The crossover I really want the most is Werewolf: The Apocalypse; a TTRPG set in The World of Darkness. It would be a unique addition to the game that will allow a bit more creativity on the devs' and White Wolf's behalf. After all, one of the main features of any TTRPG is making your very own character.

I'll start with a piece of lore that will work for the killer. The Wyrm is part of the triad of Gaia that is responsible for death, destruction, and chaos. It is the bringer of the apocalypse that the werewolves, known as Garou, are waging war against. One tribe of werewolves became Wyrm-tainted and became the Black Spiral Dancers. Here's what one of them typically looks like:

The devs could alter their appearance to give them the look of The Entity if they choose to. I suggest looking at the Black Spiral Dancer cards from the Rage collectable card game for more potential design ideas.

The Killer can start as a homid (the human-like form on the left) and build up their rage to turn into the Cronos form (middle). To keep them unique, the power build-up can come from chasing the survivor with it charging faster if bloodlust is achieved. If hit by a pallet, a locker from Head On, blinded, or the survivor breaks free, the rage will get a boost. Once they are full of rage, they enter the frenzy and transforms. It will work a lot like Oni's and Legion's powers until the rage is used up and the killer turns back to homid. For balancing, the rage may go down if the killer is not in a chase after a few seconds.

The perks can be based on the gifts the Black Spiral Dancers can get. One of them is Howl of the Banshee. Upon triggering a level of bloodlust, a loud howl comes from your killer and causes nearby survivors to scream. If they are working on a generator, totem, etc, they will stop before being allowed to work on it again. I'm not sure what the other perks would be, but here's a site that lists the gifts. I would love to hear some ideas from you.

For the survivor, a kinfolk would be perfect. They are not Garou, but have the ability to make Garou babies. They also possess some of their powers, which can easily work as perks. However, the perks depend on which tribe is selected. Glasswalkers are ideal for technological perks for generators like applying useful effects to a previously worked on generator as long as it's not completed yet. Other tribes specialize in nature, so at least one perk that utilizes the crows on the map would be ideal. Again, I would love suggestions from you guys.

That's all I have for now. What do you guys think of the ideas?
