Why is key still not changed?
It has been almost 8 months since update 4.4.1, which featured the last Mori nerf. Why is the survivor equivalent, the key, still not nerfed after all this time? Are "unfair" things that the killer role faces not as much of a priority as things survivors don't like?
Devs I hope you know a large portion of dedicated killer players feel like you really have no concern for what they have issues with, and the last 8 months speaks volumes to support this idea. I personally play 50/50, but I can still see what seems to be the total disregard for the killer role.

. Why is the survivor equivalent, the key,
Moris were NEVER the survivor equivalent. In terms of what they do then yes. but in terms of power? ABSOLUTELY NOT

Did you not see the recent Franklin's Demise change for example & how keys work now or are you just ignorant? With all this drama, I thought I was at a theatre.

How keys work now? Nothing has changed about keys. I don't care about Franklins, this has ZERO to do with that perk. It has everything to do with it being 8 months since the last mori nerf, and nothing has been directly done to keys yet. I, nor anyone can kill someone early anymore with a mori, but I and other people sure can have multiple people escape before the survivor objective is complete if we use a key.

dont tunnel someone out out of fear when you see the key and it wont activate and be relatively useless
1 -
have to do 1 more gen than there are living survivors anyway, just play the game and when the last gen is getting worked on have that be when you hook the key carrier. the survs usually throw themselves at you at that point and its an ez gg

Keys with zero charges can no longer open the hatch.
Nothing has changed about keys
Also, the devs not doing anything in the 8 months for killers, is kind of a far stretch if u ask me and rather unnecessary, hence why I'm calling you ignorant or at least, uninformed. Then u say this...

So your advice is to not do your objective if they have a key? So just let them all escape without the key and try not to prevent them from doing any gens? Even if you don't tunnel, someone will die eventually.
So I and others have to depend on how the survivors are playing in order to counter the key? What happens when you have killed someone and 2 gens are left and the guy with the key is hiding and you hook someone else and they give up on hook, then the other 2 take hatch with the key? Am I not supposed to do my objective and hook people I find and down? This is the POWER the key has. People HAVE to play in absurd ways to counter it, which is very unhealthy for the game in all honesty. Idk why people can't see this...

For the same reason your profile icon's perk is still not changed, I guess.

I'm sorry you can't wait around the hooked survivor and mori them on their first hook.
3 -
So you want everyone to run a perk to counter a key instead of them just balancing the item? What if there is no key in the lobby?
1 -
What s wrong with op's profile icon?
2 -
The key never was the same as a mori. Never. It was absolutely game-breaking and never should have been in the game to begin with. I can understand being frustrated by keys but it's just not even remotely close to being the same thing.
2 -
Yeah because I totally did that and I'm saying that lmao. Gosh this community is so odd. Instead of them balancing both unfair things, people are 100% okay with one existing and having the other side playing in absurd ways to counter it.

Finally. After years of wanting to see if someone would comment on my profile icon as a reason to attack, or disregard one of my posts or comments. You are the first. Congrats!
3 -
What do you expect? There are 4 survivors and 1 killer of course the items don't share the same power level. That would break the game. However considering the 4v1 it's pretty much the survivor equivalent of moris.
Franklin's is not a key counter. You can completely avoid it by predropping your key and the killer can not do anything about it. And no I don't consider camping a dropped key the whole game counterplay. + keys can be found I chests so have fun running franklins every game.

People all I want is a more fair game for both sides. Key is just as unfair and just as frustrating as mori was. if you can't see this, you are 100% bias. I want both sides to earn their kills and escapes. I want less frustration for both sides. Nerfing mori was 100% needed and I am glad they did it, but a key nerf is also 100% needed.
6 -
Yes the key does need a nerf. But
The key only works when a certain amount of gens are done.
The mori nerf that you are crying about required to hook someone one time before using. That's a big difference.

Moris and keys allowed one side to end the game early, before finishing their objectives. Moris were objectively more bullshit than keys, but they were nerfed into the ground
All that said... there really is no good excuse for why keys haven't been nerfed into the ground too. Dozens of suggestions that would work as temporary fixes while they do this magic key opening animation that seemingly will have taken 2 years to create by the time it's done.
I don't think the devs are biased towards one side, but they sure as hell gave the appearance of it by nerfing moris first and then taking an eternity to give keys the same treatment

Don't act like damn near everyone didn't do exactly that.
1 -
Yeah, because everyone is the same...... Everyone also t-bags on survivor and so on.
/s to the first and especially the last sentence.
2 -
Right, I think OP isn't trying to say that no one ever did that... or that moris were fair and should be brought back, they're just saying that it's kinda ######### up that moris got the proper treatment (nerfed into oblivion) while keys have still remained relatively untouched. Feels like a fair point to me

It's almost as If Franklin's is a situational perk, designed to counter items & not be run on fully 24/7 unless you're doing it out of spite.
Killers had no problem running x perk to counter another x perk from survivor and vice versa.
Second of all, I gave you Franklin's Demise as an example, hence why I highlighted it ontop of your vague argument that "Devs did nothing for killers in the last 8 months". It's a great perk to counter items all around.
You cry. You fail to adapt & you fail to overcome the sight of keys in your lobby. You are also ignorant to the fact that there has been a change to keys RECENTLY. Not only did I tell you, but then you downplay what I said with your ignorance by saying "nothing has been done to keys". The first step to countering keys is to stop crying, the second step is learning how to play around them / counter them. You fail to realize that DBD is a game about adaptation.

Killers are just adapting the same way survivors did to moris. Complaining until it's changed.
3 -
I don't bring in keys because of psychos that will target you because of said key. This includes a broken key. Heads up idiots, not everyone uses a key for the sole purpose of tormenting a killer. The same goes for maps...sometimes you have totem challenges and guess what? Maps track totems!
Also, not a fan of the moris being nerfed (and no, I do not play killer because I absolutely suck at it). I see a Mori probably every sixth game or so, so it isn't so often that it's a major rank killer (like dc'ing dick wads that leave their team hanging). Plus I like seeing the mori because that's what these psychotics killers would actually be doing to us...

All they need to do is make it so you can't use keys until ALL THE GENS ARE DONE!
1 -
Wow, it's been 8 months already? At this point I doubt they have a plan for keys at all lol.
2 -
not tunneling someone doesnt mean you arent doing your objective. Spreading the love keeps them from hopping out early becuase youre bound to drop a gen or two while blindly chasing one person. Also in regards to your second point this is a pvp game every decision either side makes is a reaction to the perks and playstyle of the opposition. Killer is braindead easy you might "lose" one in every 10 games because a swf with some actual skill and communication RNGs into you but 90% of SWFs are buns or only have 1 or 2 actually good players and the key simply doesnt matter. so what if it gets the last survivor out you still very much won the game in that case. if multiple survivors are getting out with the key consistently you failed as the killer long before that point.
0 -
I remmeber when survivors kept saying "oh stop crying about the mori nerf they said they'll nerf keys too"
it's been 8 months, where is it?
2 -
tunneling someone to death adds much pressure as they are now 3 instead of 4
0 -
except any brain dead survivor main will be like whelp they are getting tunneled lets all 3 do a gen now when you take them out boom they key out and you cry about it when you walked into it instead of applying map pressure.
0 -
if survivors have a key there is nothing killer can do.
even with franklins they'll drop the key before you hit them
0 -
if this was even remotely true there wouldnt be killer main streamers with 50+ win streaks on most killers without addons and without using franklins
0 -
you do realize killers like otz are not normal right? They are not the average killer
they also don't commonly always get SWF survivors
2 -
Like I've said in another post : Devs should not put keys rework on PTB.
0 -
they do have significantly more hours than most but they are just a name recognizable. they have everything at their disposal that you do. Go on twitch and watch a killer streamer that isn't just memeing and they still stomp a majority of their games.

Keys were not change when they adjusted Franklin's to take a % percent off your item when being hit so when your item had 0% on it you could no longer use that item, but yet you were still able to use keys even if they had 0% use on them and escape though the hatch. So they changed it so if your key had 0% on it you couldn't escape using the hatch, So keys have yet to be changed this change was due to Franklin's and how it works now.
