Why does iron will completely remove breathing sounds?

It seems like the perk shouldn't be able to do that, it even specifically states that it only silences grunts of pain.

If they're dead set on keeping the current iron will/Stridor interaction. The least they could do is allow stridor to boost the ambient breathing through iron will.

    I wouldn't mind that. Like you said, Iron Will states that it only silences grunts of pain so the normal breathing should still be there.

    The reason is because the game’s code only has 2 different settings for survivor’s sounds - “healthy” (which is essentially only breathing sounds) or “injured”. So Iron Will takes away the “injured” sounds, which don’t include breathing. It’s really dumb but it’s basically because the game code isn’t advanced enough to differentiate lol.

    They need to build it from the ground up but I doubt that ever happens. It would take considerable time and resources to pull it off. Not an easy feat by any means.

    Because they needed to refactor 4 1/2 years ago and decided to just keep chugging along instead.
