Hatch Spawning?

My friend keeps saying the hatch spawns after 2 gens are done, which I know isn't true. There's a certain amount of gens and survivors that need to be done/dead before it spawns.
Obviously it spawns with one survivor left alive.
I'm right tho?

It spawns after the number of gens done is 1 more than the number of survivors left in the game. So with 4 survivors it spawns after all 5 gens are done, with 3 survivors - after 4 gens, with 2 survivors - after 3 gens.
