It would really be cool if they added cross play from console to console and exclude PC players

I understand that most of the playerbase that play DbD are on PC but it would be really cool if they made an option of preference. Now we currently have crossplay on or off. But if we had a 3rd option console to console I swear that would be cool. PC players always have the advantage over console. They have the better controls, better everything. And on top of that they can stretch out their resolution to gain an unfair advantage over console killers. So I would like to see if they added a 3rd option to crossplay. Would be really cool imo.

If it's done it should be a choice I like playing with and against all platforms

I guess you have a great point. I personally love crossplay with all platforms but sometimes in the high red ranks a lot of survivors I go against that play on PC use stretch resolution and it becomes impossible to mind game them as the killer since they have such a huge unfair advantage which is pretty annoying to deal with. anyway. I agree with your point.

How can you tell a lot of them are using stretched resolution? Is it that they are hard to catch at red ranks?

Fewer cheaters, not no cheaters. Cheating is possible on any device, it's just harder to do on some of them. With consoles becoming more and more like cheap, neutered PCs, I'd wager console cheating is about to explode.

    It's already happening

Of course it's just shooters right now, but the fact it can be used in every platform is already worrying.

    I might've known.

This is just like the "Macs can't get viruses!" claim that just ensured people using Macs took no precautions against malware, resulting in their systems becoming infected more easily.

There is no reason whatsoever why an operating system can't have malware. There is no reason whatsoever why a program cannot be hacked. Assume everything is vulnerable, doesn't matter if it's electronic, mechanical, or somewhere in between.

Or at least make DBD support MnK on consoles

This is something I don't understand. Why wouldn't DbD support mouse and keyboard on consoles? It's such a bizarre decision by BHVR.

Same. I play on PS5 so performance is fine now, but playing killers like Blight on controller is holding me back.

I remember them asking if we want MnK support for consoles in one survey last year. But that was the only time it was mentioned since then.

when i'm in a tile trying to mind game the survivor I hide my red stain and moon walk. Or sometimes I fake a direction i'm going in then I go back the opposite way. They always time it PERFECTLY. They avoid me real perfectly which doesnt really happen that much without crossplay. its kind of hard to guess where the killer will come from when you hide the red stain. but people who use stretch resolution have a wider field of view. They get a free "shadowborn" without the sacrifice of a perk slot. thats why i'm saying its unfair advantage.

Mystifies is all. When this was last publicly discussed prolly over two years ago the reasons given were: it would take way too long & be way too much work to implement, and also require a UI overhaul as well.

To me that sounds like a nope never, meaning the new gen machines won't get it either. Makes playing Blight and Nurse etc. to their full potential on console impossible imo.

They tell you they use stretched? I mean, how do you know "a lot of Survivors" use stretched?

  • itsquiet27

because some games I go against red Rank survivors that play the game normally and sometimes I go against try hard sweats that play the game PERFECTLY. We are human so it's impossible to play it perfect. seriously every mind game I do fails and they are on PC so it should be obvious as to why they did so well. Stretch resolution is the only answer. and it's not every game like I said. Only some games. It's very frustrating to go against these types of players. Full tryhard and full sweat taking advantage of stretch resolution and they are playing as a SWF. just imagine

How do you know they're on PC and not another console? Hell, how do you know they didn't just have a perfect game? Those happen from time to time.

If that's what you have to tell yourself to make a loss feel better - you do you :)

You seem a little bit newer to the forums so here is a bit of advice

when responding to someone the best way to make sure they are notified of it and that you show that your message is more directed at them is to use the quote button, at the bottom of their comment press the quote button and it should open up the leave a comment, this way it will notify them that you have messaged them / responded the other way is the use a at sign followed by their tag, this is more useful for responding to multiple people at once, simply type the symbol followed by their name and it should come up with a small list of users whos name match and you can select from there

that should help keep the discussion flowing better for both parties involved

most of the playerbase play this game on PC it should already be known. 1st of all i'm on xbox and the person has cross play symbol. Playstation has limited names you can use. You cannot use a psn name with symbols or spaces. only _. pc and nintendo switch are the only platforms you are allowed to use ANY symbol and name for. but lets be real here. Do you think people play this game sweaty on nintendo switch at 30 fps and the fps isnt consistent. So they are obviously PC players. Also PC is the only platform that has the MOST try hard sweats that take every flaw advantage the game has. for example. Full brightness in game, Stretched resolution. etc...

It's estimated, but not known, because console manufacturers are quite adamant about never giving away player numbers, for some reason.

1st of all i'm on xbox and the person has cross play symbol.

That just means they're not on whichever specific XBOX model you're playing on. DbD is available on two different versions of XBOX and PlayStation.

laystation has limited names you can use. You cannot use a psn name with symbols or spaces. only _. pc and nintendo switch are the only platforms you are allowed to use ANY symbol and name for.

    That's a good indicator, yes.

but lets be real here. Do you think people play this game sweaty on nintendo switch at 30 fps and the fps isnt consistent.

I think most people play to win (what you call "sweaty"), regardless of platform.

Also PC is the only platform that has the MOST try hard sweats that take every flaw advantage the game has.

Gonna need a source for that.

for example. Full brightness in game, Stretched resolution. etc...

Those are not flaws in the game, they're settings. Settings that you can change on a TV screen as well, as someone pointed out in another thread.

about the xbox versions. Its actually all the same no matter which xbox I play on. the latest xbox series S or X when playing with original xbox one 2013. they all are considered the same platform. even PS4 and PS5 they are the same. they dont show crossplay symbol near the name. so they are 100% pc players majority of the time. plus some players I see have TTV and when I join their stream they are on PC. And I agree with you that most people play to win. But I play the switch and boy let me tell you. Its hard to play on there. The game is extremely dark. game stutters a lot. Its not consistent 30 fps so its usually very hard to perform perfectly on it. and about the source of PC players being most try hards. Just look at competitive gaming in general. What platform is played on the most in real life tournaments? PC. so thats why i'm saying they are the most try hards ever. On console I dont think its possible to even change your resolution to stretch it in game. i've never seen it so I can't really comment on that.

Give console the same settings as PC. I'd love to tone down the graphics to get more frames, fewer lag spikes and increased brightness.

I'm not sure how you would know as a killer, unless you know they shouldn't be able to see you over an obstacle but they appear to see you anyway.

But I've spotted some obvious stretched res when spectating anothr survivor. They have their camera pointed right down at their feet, yet are running around as if they can see things off to the top of the screen that I don't see.

You also forgot how PC players can reduce their graphics so that shadows/garbage/clutter/bullshit can't be seen at all, making the game 10000% easier for them but consoles are locked to ultra worthless levels of HD.
