Totem makes me unable to move

I was in the Crotus Prenn Asylum in the Disturbed Ward and I cleansed a totem upstairs. In doing so, I became completely imobile. When the killer finally found me, he hit me and was unable to pick me up for a little bit. I became verticle to the ground with my head seeming to be in the ground.
