The surv challenges encourage NOT doing main objectives, and it really hurts solo queue. How to fix?
Killer largely has challenges all around killing/hooking/breaking stuff.
Survivors out here like blowing gens for great skill checks using a trash perk. Thanks for that loud noise notification, for your random sabotages, wasting time/toolbox charges you could've used on this gen you watched me do. Hunting for totems at the cost of ignoring the gen they just ran past. Trying to finish a generator in the killer's terror radius so doing lord knows what. On and on.
You get one of each of these random challenges on a few different people, and it's horrible. It's adding so much chaos to the already chaotic solo queue/non-swf play.
I like that they try to be creative with them, I really do love the attempt. But at the same time, even getting the creative weird ones done seems to still feel like checking off an annoying chore on your to-do list. Admittedly I don't play killer nearly as much, but the most specific killer ones don't seem nearly as bad as making red herring work or whatever. And if they are, they're definitely not as frequent.
Some of the most angry moments I've had in this game, are having to escape with [x] character. You get to the exit gate and die before you can... Great I have to play this dumb character again. So irritating. Going into a match expecting to escape is just really asking for suffering in this game. You get these escape ones pretty frequently. How often does the game ask you to get a 4k with Billy? Or 3 moris but they have to be all in one match.
You know what I mean?
I love the attempt at creativity, and using lesser-known perks--I really do. But it feels too obtuse, or the requirements are too specific and obnoxious. I know it's supposed to be a 'challenge' but it's not the right kind of challenge. The challenge is not ripping your hair out when you wasted your time, wondering why you even bothered. It's not like "oh man I can't wait to get this perk to work."
What do y'all think? Any ideas on improving it?

I really do hate some of these challenges as a Solo Survivor.
My personal hate lies with Blood Debt. And that's to save a Survivor who saved you from a hook. That is just not guaranteed to happen unless you're ACTIVELY throwing the game to get a single point of progression so you can save that one specific survivor before anyone else.
And you need to do it 4 times.

There are some challenge like "do 12 Gens" and it tooks age to complete.

Honestly wouldn't be so bad if mmr was a thing, even without challenges I get teammates that dont touch gens or able to lead a chase etc. So I'm versing a rank 1 killer with a team that should probably be rank 10

Matchmaking is always gonna be a problem. It's a problem in most games, much less a team game and an asymmetrical one at that. Not that this shouldn't be worked on, but that's a much more complicated and completely different issue. You're adding to my point here--there's always gonna be teammates who aren't doing what they should be. This encourages people on that path.
Also, you're saying "even without challenges" your teammates are doing all that. There's no "without" challenges. There's ALWAYS challenges. It's ALWAYS going to be influencing player behavior.
It became blindingly obvious playing with my newer friends who are learning. You're so starved for bloodpoints, you tunnel vision on them. They were really staying injured on purpose to try to do the iron will challenge, that was a big light bulb.
In the same game I heard "no, don't heal me" after being unhooked, AND "omg this feng [i unhooked] wont stop running let me heal you!" It sets up so many avenues for frustrations.
But I hear you on the matchmaking--playing with these new friends has been wild. They've gotten up to rank 12, with me at rank 5 today the killers were either rank 1 or rank 16. The game can't figure out what to do.

Your point here about the healing, reminds me of the challenge where you need to remain unhealed to get the skillcheck perk to work, I found that people were always wanting to heal me. And I didn't want to be rude, so I just started running no mither to finally get that challenge completed.
