Reasons why trapper has not two traps as basekit
Tell me. I have no idea.
Wraith got his windstorm as basekit and while i think he really needed it, trapper is in a worse state without a bag.
Almost every trapper uses bag addons, right? So the data should show the devs that this addon is needed or op. And its obviously not op.
Trapper is not one of the strongest killer. Arguely the weakest and his killrate is not one of the best like pig.
From what ive heard the majority of the community is for this change and its easy to implement. They would just need a new addon for the brown bag.
Its trapper. The first killer. The poster boy. Many still start with him when they buy the game.
So do i miss something? Why was this change not made long ago?

Because bhvr has a horrible dev cycle where they make content on a 3 month cycle that some how manages to both feel extremely minute but also takes way more effort then necessary. Also they probably spend an unholy amount of time fixing their own bugs only for a large amount to still make it to live.
Its honestly impressive how much work they put in for how little they have to show for it every chapter.

His iridescent add-on allows traps to reset on their own, it doesn’t need to be base-kit. I agree he should have 3 traps as base-kit, but he also needs faster base setting speed.
He should also be immune from getting trapped in his own traps. Picking up traps should be faster, if not an automatic function where all he has to do is walk over an unset trap and it’ll automatically be added to his inventory.

They probably want to give him more traps as basekit, but they simply are super slow in doing changes. Just look how many years it took for Wraith to finally be a threat, or for Iri Head to not stack with extra hatchets, for DS to be a balanced perk, you got it.

I can see most of these, but I think walking through Traps should be an add-on, rather than just a base feature. That idea is a potentially very strong addition to his kit.

wouldn't the killer wear protective footwear?
Imaging there is a feature that he steps on his own trap then after that hes also carry that trap with him, with his leg.

Because giving trapper an extra trap would make him very oppressive at the start of a game, because all he would have to do is bring a setting speed add-on and chases would be impossible against him. He'd just place one trap on one end of the loop and another on the other end, and then you die unless there's another loop right next to it. If you let him have his more broken add-ons like iri stone and bloody coil, which makes disarming traps impossible and removes almost all of his counterplay, he would just be old legion with extra steps.

Yea, I can see it being too strong if he manages to get someone in a shack basement. I really just hope they give us purple bag as base and replace it with an interesting new add-on that adds some risk to disarming traps.

Most loops have one pallet. You trap this pallet and the survivor needs to leave the loop. Nothing would change with two traps. Many trapper use setting speed and a bag, but i never had a problem at the start of the game bc i can just leave the loop. Setting speed can make it difficult ig most loops are destroyed at the end of the game, but the bag addon has nothing to do with it.

This would be a not map dependent tar bottle. It would be a trapper buff, but i dont know whether its the right way to buff him.

I would love it if the trapper could collect traps out of lockers like huntress and trickster...

Because he's an outdated killer that doesn't pose balance problems and who's not in a dlc. So, they have no rush to fix his issues.
