Just realized this about the BP grind
As we all know, the grind is huge in DBD.
And since i started playing the game, i've always used offering to get some "help" with my grind. But recently i wondered how beneficial they really are and here is my answer:
Ignore the flashy color, i did it quickly to see the results.
As it is shown, no matter what BP offering you use (envelope and cake aside), you can't hope for any BP income unless you get at least 6k BP in that categorie.
You could say "getting 6k BP in a categorie is quite easy to do", but how often do you think you get 6k in a specific categorie? How often do you have a game where 1 side get destroyed and doesn't get any bp, how often does survivor get tunneled, have a bad game and get no bp. And let's not even talk about the survival categorie where if you don't escape, good luck getting more than 3k. Or game where the killer is weaker so the survivor don't get a lot of altruism even if they win easily.
What i want to say is that, more often than not, using them make you lose more bp than not using any, which indirectly make your grind even worse.
With all the content that this game has accumulated over the year, isn't it time to bump those number up so that we have an easier time just regainng our BP on use?
Maybe i am the only one bothered by this, but i at least wanted post it in case some player didn't know how bad these offering are, and to be aware before using them all the time like i did.
Here is my formula, don't hesitate to call me out if i made any mistake or if i misunderstood how they work:
Bonus BP = ( BP gained * offering percentage ) - offering cost
So for the brown one:
Bonus BP = (1000 * 0.5 ) - 3000

The grind is unreal, I played 3 years on console and this year finally got a gaming PC. Started from scratch really hurt my soul. Also, it be awesome if they just got rid of the tiers off the perks it would be still grindy but a little less if that makes sense. Also, let us have daily login rewards doesn't have to be a lot but like some shards and bloodpoints like mobile as.

Copy/Pasted this from my reply in another similar thread:
Compared to the yellow rarity envelope and cake/pudding, the flowers and wreaths really stand out as giving a very negligible bonus in BP. The green ones can buy you one (1) brown offering (3000), and that's only when you maxed out the category. Lower-tier flowers and wreaths can't even buy you anything at all.
Moreover, the Sealed Envelopes/Hollow Shells are a really hard sell compared to the Escape Cakes/Survivor Puddings of the same rarity, cost and requirements. A whopping potential 22K difference. Not to mention how uncommon it is to max out all categories, especially for survivors.
So, what would I change? Apart from adding more score events to make categories easier to max out, particularly for Survival:
Brown Flowers/Wreaths: 125% in one category (up from 50%):
10.000 - 3000 = 7000 gain
(6k increase)
Yellow Flowers/Wreaths: 150% in one category (up from 75%):
12.000 - 4000 = 8000 gain
(6k increase)
Green Flowers/Wreaths: 200% in one category (up from 100&):
16.000 - 5000 = 11.000 gain
(8k increase)
Sealed Envelopes/Hollow Shells: 50% in all categories (up from 25%):
16.000 - 4000 = 12.000 gain
(8k increase)
Escape Cakes/Survivor Puddings: is now green rarity (was yellow, increasing cost by 1k):
32.000 - 5000 = 27.000 gain
(1k decrease)
BPS: is now purple rarity (was green, increasing cost by 1k):
32.000 - 6000 = 26.000 gain (but for all players)
(1k decrease)
Bound Envelopes: 75% in all categories (was 25%):
24.000 - 5000 = 19.000 gain (but for all Survivors)
(16k increase)
NEW: A killer exclusive offering to serve as an equivalent of the changed Bound Envelopes
Gore Cupcake: green rarity, 75% in all categories:
24.000 - 5000 = 19.000 gain (but only for the Killer)
My thoughts:
The Flowers/Wreaths see a doubling in their max payout, making for almost quadruple the max potential BP gain. Sealed Envelopes/Hollow Shells are also tripled in their max potential BP gain. This, in my mind, should make them far better options to pop, whilst still warranting their rarity compared to other, better offerings.
The Escape Cake/Survivor Pudding rarity changes are more so because it doesn't make sense for them to be in the rarity they're in as they are, as well as allowing some room for Sealed Envelopes/Hollow Shells's to exist as yellow tiers. The same goes for BPS. Not the best of reasons, I know, but it's my list. I also didn't want to change their percentages too much, as I fear they may become "too much". They still want some grind, after all.
Sealed Envelopes/Hollow Shells' rarity remains unchanged, as getting their max potential is not exactly a guarantee. Popping a green Flowers/Wreath ought to give a more consistent payout. The same idea applies for Escape Cakes/Survivor Puddings compared to green Flowers/Wreaths.
I didn't want to take out any offerings either, and have even added my own. The Gore Cupcake (which I swear I've seen somewhere) is just there to fill up the gap that the Bound Envelopes fill for the Survivor side.

I would like a new Legacy. Since the grind is even worse than 2016 but ina different way I think it would be pretty fair. How many hours do you need to get all perks on a single or all survivors /killer. How much money and how much patients does a new player need to get what he is looking for?
The grind needs a big rework. This is the biggest issue atm but nothing gets done about it.

Thats why events where we can earn offerings like cakes are just... meh.
2 -
And they're still too stubborn to even change the grind for the better. i don't get it.
3 -
I progressed alot of my grind because of the cakes.

Getting 0-2 cakes per survivor web isn´t exactly great. You spend 50k points per web.
2 -
But in my experience, most of the games I had during the 5th anniversary event had 4 or 5 cakes in them and I walked away with 225k bloodpoints on average. Yeah it's annoying that the cakes were a lot more rare this year compared to last year but I was still able to make a profit from other people sharing their cakes.

Yeah I said this before.
Brown 50% offerings are useless, 75% offerings are next to useless, 100% offerings are ok-ish, cakes/puddings are great.
50% offerings cost 3k, assuming you play perfectly that just gives 1k bp back, wow just amazing!!! /s.
Cakes/puddings those are way worth it, you can get 28k for free with that offering, I'm saying 28k because offering is 4k.
People always say "but it was worse before the bloodweb change!" Yes but you only had 4 killers and 5 survivors, we have 23 right now + 27 survivors.

It's true that most bloodpoint offerings aren't very worthwhile, but I'd rather take the few extra points instead of having to take some fog vial on the bloodweb.
In general, we all know that the grind is mega much. I think the devs should rework the bloodweb and/or the prestige mechanic. Theoretically, you could just level up a character:
Level 50 = P1
Level 100 = P2
Level 150 = P3
You would complete and level up your perks and also keep your inventory. This would reduce the grind enormously. Personally, I do not really care, because I have almost all the characters on P3 50, but for new players I think a change would be very good, because the grind certainly discourages many.

Probably the biggest offender is the Crispleaf Amaranth, which also touches on the survival category having such a terrible point distribution. Almost the entire category is determined by one single scoring event, making these offerings not only useless in most cases but also plain frustrating as it draws attention to a big flaw.
In regards to reducing grind, one thing I would really like to see is that prestiging permanently unlocks a character's perks for all other characters, taking them out of the perk pool and thus reducing future grind. It'd still take a TON of work to get everything done, but you won't be left grinding up to level 40+ without getting key perks like WGLF, BBQ & Chili, Fixated, Hex: Ruin and others. A new survivor or killer drops and you can immediately play them with a decent set of perks, freeing you from RNG and lowering the grind pressure.
This could also futureproof the game, too. The only remaining problem is that prestiging also removes all offerings and items/add-ons, which makes prestiging very unappealing if you have a lot of cakes, gateaus, event items, etc., so I'd preferably see that changed too.

The point of Legacy was to reward the players that spent forever prestiging a character because of how long it took to prestige. You can prestige now in just a couple of days or sooner if you just play a lot.
I just don't see a point of having another exclusive like that. What's the point of an exclusive if practically everyone will get it?

You're thinking about it too much. Don't even consider the BP offerings as anything other than them giving a little back of what you need to spend anyways. This is the way they want us to grind.
So, the goal for me are the perks, certain items/addons, bps/puddings/cakes. Everything else is just extra and I don't even care what those extra things are as long as it leads to what I really want. Alternatively, they could remove the fluff and double the cost of the good stuff (or whatever ######### number they want to charge) and it will be the same thing anyways.
They changed the bloodweb twice before. They can make it even easier if they wanted. Maybe have multiple perks available from level 1 and/or put more perks in the middle rings of the web. Tiers should stay. It's what makes people play more than they should.

I honestly don't remember the last time I used a BP offering that wasn't a pudding or a cake or the letters

So then you have 12 offerings that just clutter up the bloodweb. If their payout was massively increased, would you burn them more often?
0 -
Yes
1 -
Well, there you go.
I’m probably going to make another thread in the feedback section, along with my other idea of a score event upon any gen being completed granting all living survivors 400BP in the Survival category. Might even do a megathread at some point.

What they should do:
- Brown Offerings = +100% in a category (up from 50%)
- Yellow Offerings = +150% in a category (up from 75%)
- Green Offerings = +100% in a category for all survivors, +200% in a category for killer
- Yellow Envelope/Shell = +50% total (up from 25%)
This way, all green survivor BP offerings share a trait, they apply to everyone, and the rest provide a definitive increase.

Yea I can barely get a strand to level up per game atm, imagine being a new player trying to get perks

People stopped using the cakes once the event was over thought.
So some people managed to stockpile cakes. While others just got toolboxes and no one is using them anymore.
