as for the lgbtq+ stuff: The fnaf creator (albeit he 'officially' steps down from fnaf now) has voiced and defended some severely nasty anti-lgbtq+ stuff.
As for why fnaf wouldn't work:
Fnaf is a game that does excel in what made the games stand out: The feeling of claustrophobia and paranoia. Now, a lot of horror games use similar techniques, but credit where it's due, fnaf did a good job with using these elements.
Now, in DbD you can't really do that, so sure, you'd have the character, but it'd be a hollow shell as you can't really mimic the sense of claustrophobia and paranoia in dbd.
There have been several threads musing about potential perks, but never really gameplay. And the few i saw either had gameplay that would require complete unique mechanics for a single character, or would end up giving us a killer that would make spirit look like trickster in comparison (and that's no good).
In the worst case we'd have a repeat of the RE chapter:
big, windy indoormap and a killer that quickly loses his novelty due to being underwhelming/annoying for both sides.

Also, Slenderman is a meme, right? I'm not an expert about horror license, but it'd make more sense to me to use a game/movie/book rather than a meme, even if it's well-known.
But maybe the S isn't tied to the name of the character, but its power... (If we agree it's about the Killer.)
Why this map? It's the Nurse's map. With a hospital... I don't know, we should have more to go tomorrow!

that’s why I find it a bit strange that everyone suddenly noticed a S on a bench on NURSE’S map and suddenly thought “Is this a reference to the new chapter?”
I’m all for making theories and looking at Twitter for references and clues but at some point you have to draw a difference between something that makes sense and a reach that stretches so far it’s left the atmosphere and is currently grasping a moon rock

It's not even on the planter box, though. Look closely, it's just projected in the smoke. I'm pretty darn sure someone like Paulie Esther would have known about this S if it was there before.

Having read the entire thread, though, I can see why people would think it's a FNAF chapter. That shape does resemble an animatronic from the series, although I think the "ear" could just be a crow.

To be honest, I do hope it isn't Springtrap. The games itself are fine, I played them years ago (my younger sister was a much bigger fan, I was just a casual player) but that fandom is really one that does not need to cross over to this community.
