24 hour ban?

Today I logged in on dbd and saw I had a 24 hour ban for intentional gameplay abuse. I’m honestly very confused as to how this happened because I don’t think I’ve done anything in this category (siding with the killer, bodyblocking, prolonging the game, etc.). As both killer and survivor I try to play pretty fairly and not be toxic. I also just came back from a week long break from dbd and haven’t played that many matches the last couple of days. The only thing I can think of is a Plague letting my friend and I finish the last gen and escape after my teammates had died. Does that count as siding with the killer?

Anyways, I was wondering if a seemingly unwarranted ban has happened to anyone else and if there’s a way to find out exactly why I was banned (I was going to contact customer support but it said not to with a temporary ban).

Thanks for reading :)

you said your teammates died and didnt dc, so i guess thats what made the report stick, since its odd for a killer to just "give up" when there are 2 survivors left. i woudnt be suprised if i was wrong but also make sure nobody else has access to your account.

I play with my survivors all the time and very often leave 2 survivors left to 'tell the tale' so to speak. Especially when they're both on death hook and I have one hooked in the basement. I like to see if they'll save their friend or go sit on the hatch (which I will be on). If they're brave and altruistic I reward that.

Then there are times I'm just straight up playing with my food, but that's another story.

In general a lot of games punish you on a delay, sometimes months out so you don't know what you did on purpose. I think Team Fortress 2 is one that does this method, but I haven't really dug into the subject much. If I had to guess they're going to give you the slip on that one if you try to squeeze them on it in a really corporate manner.

My best recommendation is to remember what they did to you, for better or worse. Don't forget this.

(But I personally hope you'll give them another chance.)

I think the "We don't discuss bans publicly" rule isn't obvious enough... We have threads like this everyday.
