Is it true that EAC whitelisted custom icons?

So I know about "at your own risk", but when I was trying to find more information I found out that EAC doesn't check folders with icons. Is it true?

    I'm assuming your source isn't reliable, or else you wouldn't be coming here.

    Fact is, nobody knows what EAC does or does not scan for. So it's use at your own risk, no matter what anyone else says.

    There used to be a public whitelist at one point on the EAC website but I don't think it exists anymore.
