Any Tips for a New Blight?

I recently made a thread not too long ago regarding this same thing but with Freddy. So far I've only played one game of Blight on my new Xbox account -- and that was a few weeks ago now -- despite having purchased him from the start of the account's creation. I'm just absolutely petrified of playing him. The only game I played was horrendous. It was a Springwood SWF where I was attempting to learn his chain rushes and lethals, and I was just plain abhorrent with it. Couldn't chain efficiently, barely hit lethal shots... and to make matters worse, I think I was so stressed that I forgot how to chain without lethalling lol...

I know better now, obviously, and I'm not a horrible player all-around, in case you're wondering. I'm just still worried. I'm about to hop into another match of him, and I suspect it'll go horribly, but if there's one thing I've learned over the years with DBD, it's that you've got to try and try again and learn in the process in order for results to start showing. Having recently converted to console, that's rather hard...

But I just want some tips. What perks should I use (and I'd appreciate limiting it to Blight's own accessible ones, because I've only got limited teachables -- new account, after all), what add-ons should I run in the beginning, etc... I'm currently sitting with a rather 'meh' build: NOED (shush, I'm not good with Blight), Sloppy, Dragon's, and Unrelenting (that's substituted for Undying), and I have Umbra Salts and Foxglove equipped as I don't want to auto-consume my better ones.

Thanks in advance. I do like playing Blight.

Edit: I just had my second game with him. I absolutely love him! I landed what I consider some insane Lethals, snared a 4k, and had an abundant amount of fun in the process! So thrilling.

    Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sp_0PCdSOo

    Best Blight guide available imo.

Blight is powerful enough that he barely depends on any perks at all. My go to build on him is BBQ, Tinkerer, Infectious, Enduring. I use alchemist ring + Blighted Crow cuz it makes him more fun, but any addon will do. For a beginner I'd avoid using the slam duration addons, the monocle and the one that turns you to the nearest survivor automatically cuz they'll mess with your muscle memory or just be obtrusive.

Don't be afraid to use your rush at loops when you're learning. The better you become at Blight, the more you become aware of how to use his power at loops.

Also a little tip. Blight's collision is tied to his camera but also his directional speed, this second collision detection is more or less in the middle part of his character model. If you see an object that extends outwards at the bottom, it's possible your feet will collide with that extension and you'll slide on them, if you see an object that extends on the top, it's possible your head will collide and you will not slam against them either.

    Here's what that looks like

Here's a couple of good ones if you don't mind loading up on slowdown perks:

Ruin, Pop, BBQ, Tinkerer is super mean and consistent

Lethal Pursuer, Corrupt, Pop, Tinkerer (you can swap Pop or Corrupt for BBQ if you want). This build gives you an excellent early game chance.

Ruin, Undying, Pop, Tinkerer is nasty.

Also, if you watch the video you'll see something called "hug tech" which is hugging an object really close during your slam before initiating a rush. This can still be done, but you have to look down as you initiate the rush or else Blight just goes into fatigue.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I am aware of hugging, as I'm not a new player -- been here for a while, lol -- and I'm glad to say that I'm really enjoying Blight now. I've just had four odd consistent games with him, and I feel I'm improving with every one. First game after this post was Father Campbell's, and, as my edit states, I racked a 4k easily and had great fun in the process. I'm loving him. Once more, cheers for your replies. I'll definitely see through to implementing them into my playstyle. I've got to say, at this rate, I might be a Blight main in no time. :D

Glad to hear! And I hope it helps. Blight is the best thing bhvr have made for me XD I love him so much, and I truly think he is the best designed killer in the game...despite a few annoying bugs. Do hope you have a blast with him too! :3

I'm an Oni main but I keep getting urges to try Blight. Im pretty handy with Oni's demon dash, but how does he play compared to Blight? He looks more complicated

Honestly Blight has so much freedom concerning his perks... Play for pleasure my friend.

LilithOmen is a great Blight main, a lot of useful tips you can get from him.

Overall I think the main learning curve with Blight is knowing the collisions, what is bounceable, what is not. You can take those in your advantages for crazy flicks around textures.

    Practice, practice... And practice.

You won't do well with him at first. My first game I didn't land a single rush it. My second game I got one. Nowadays I'm not an amazing blight by any means but these days probably most of my hits are rush hits. Unlike nurse even if you're really struggling to get hits you can just be a 115 killer with great mobility which isn't the worst thing, but you should go for rush hits at every opportunity at first, even probably impossible ones, just to get a feel for what you can and can't do.

Already working on it. If you read my edit, I had a great game, and it's safe to safe I'm keeping it consistent. Doing really well at the moment. I'm glad I gambled with difficult lethal hits in the first couple of games, because now I know full well when and when not I can hit my lethals, even in the tightest of scenarios. Only thing that's bugging me is... what's with some surfaces and just not letting you slam into them sometimes? :D

Already on it mate. I think I'm going great, but maybe it's too early to tell. Rest assured, I'm having a hell of a time. Cheers.

I made an analysis video for him back in August when his PTB was announced... my God it feels like ages ago. But yeah, I fell in love with him myself, from appearance to power to perks and overall design... just gets me so excited, if I'm honest. I love everything about it. One of the greatest additions to DBD if you ask me. Glad we both agree on it that! :D

I can really recommend trying Blight,he's a TON of fun.

There's not much to explain regarding his playstyle imo.You just use your power to cross a huge amount of distance in basically no time at all,you can use your rushes to catch up to survivors,to zone them or get some really good hits with your rushes if done well.

His overall playstyle revolves around being agressive and able pressure to pressure multiple survivors with his mobility.

He's really hard to learn but VERY worth the time investment.

Not too difficult after a while. Essentially, you have five tokens which each replenish extraordinarily quickly. Each time you fire your power you consume a token, and dash forward. You should almost always aim to collide with an obstacle, at which point you can chain another rush, and opening yourself up for a lethal rush (a rush where you can attack). I'm sure you know all that -- everybody does, right? -- but it's literally that easy, honestly. Granted, it takes some practice, but from what I've seen and heard about Oni, I'm going to say he's more difficult. But yeah, you're kinda right, Blight is more complicated. But not to the point where he's irritatingly hard to play. Just enough to make him a practice-makes-perfect kind of Killer. He's great :D

I've learned enough from my nearly four years of DBD to know how to keep tabs on broken pallets and vault locations, and I'm confident that extends to every Killer, even Blight, but I appreciate your input lol. I was more so focusing on Blight-specific criteria, because let's face it, none of us have too many problems with remembering pallets and windows :D

dont always lead to needing to lethal rush at the first person you see, its okay to just basic attack them

however if you do want to rush at them make sure you have a clear view of where they are, and attempt to predict their movements

(not the best blight main so :P [nor am i even a blight main])

1 take notes of what you hit and slide off of it helps you be a lot more consistent with your bounces

    2. Dont over use your power use it to catch up between loops

    3. If you are going to use your power at loops pay attention to your environment it helps for when you can and cannot use it

Example: shack bounce off the door opposite of pallet. sometimes a tree spawns directly to your left on the corner if you think they are going to vault hit that tree and get your hit.

4: information perks are great bbq discordance tinkerer. All are great because you can act on it

    5 practice

These are just general tips practice to tee what works best for you
