I don't get it, is there a reason?

You have a different skill rating for every killer in the MMR-system. So depending on the killer you get different survivor.

As said, different killers have seperate MMR. A feature that has been requested for a very long time.

The reason this is completely incompatible with swapping killer is pretty obvious. What happens if you load into a lobby with your bottom 20% MMR killer that you actively threw matches on, then swap to your main who you're top 1% MMR on? You already got matched with survivors, presumably based on the killer you had selected when you got matched with them.

And even when MMR isn't active, this still applies. Data gathered from matches where the killer used for matchmaking and the killer actually played is different is completely worthless data when it comes to improving the MMR system. Because even when we're not in a MMR test and it doesn't drive matchmaking, it's still gathering data and doing pretty much everything else the system is supposed to do in the background, most likely.
