Real question and concern I Just had with SBMM
What's stopping people from just making alt steam accounts and family sharing the game to poop on new people? I can already see even a mediocre/bad Nurse, or Twins, or Plague, just absolutely stomping for 4 or 5 games before it catches up.
That doesn't sound like much, but if you have a huge influx of people playing and 25 or 30 killers doing this, it's going to ruin the introduction of the game for a lot of people.

I’m confused- couldn’t this be done now with the same effect? With more desired results for the offender(s) even?

Right now it's a toss up who's actually in who's games. Returning players from months past are still not bad players, so there's a healthy mix of good and bad players at "rank 20." What I'm worried about is new accounts from high tier players getting into the queue with actual new players, because SBMM has no data on them.

yeah. Sorry but that is an issue that literally every single matchmaking system can’t really stop. Current one as well. And it’s probably much faster to get to an appropriate MMR than it is to rank up to red ranks.

I'm aware it's an issue that they can't stop. The actual concern is "Why, after five years, allow it to become a problem?"

You could always do this. I have a second PS4 account with no progress because my wife and I were going to start a challenge where when each survivor dies, you have to move on to the next... But we were playing through the rift and now there's another one and so on.
But you could always do this, so not sure what the point is? This is not a differentiator between ranks and SBMM.

There's no skill based matchmaking right now. It's a healthy mix of returning players that aren't good and actual new survivors at high ranks. There's still a decent/reasonable chance that at least 1 of the 4 survivors are actually good. With SBMM enabled, that's off the table.

If I'm great at a killer, say rank 1, and I create a new account on my Playstation, I can play that killer at rank 20. That would put me against rank 20 survivors. Not sure how I see that SBMM makes it different than ranked.

This is happening since day 1, smurf accounts have always been and will always be a thing, how do you think those "content creators" can make their compilation vids bullying new players?

Again… they are not now allowing it.
and you don’t know how fast the first mmr score is calculated. It could very well be that someone that performs great in their first match doesn’t get matched like a noob afterwards.
