In regard's to Pinhead's box...

What's the purpose of the survivor trying to solve it? How does the survivor benefit from solving the cube? I don't know if its me being stupid, but I seriously don't understand why a survivor would bother trying to solve the cube when all it does is reveal your location to the killer.

The survivors gradually build up Pinheads passive overtime. When the passive is maxed, all survivors start getting constantly harassed by hooks (These do not reveal survivors to pinhead, and serve rather to slow and annoy the survivor, unless in chase in which case it's dangerous). Completing the box resets the passive, with the downside that Pinhead can teleport to the box's location as its being solved.
