Shamed for running Lightborn
Comments

Not to derail the topic too much, but I'm sick of terms like "shaming" or "toxic" being used for DBD of all things.
Are you really being hurt psychologically on a deeper level that makes you feel unwarranted guilt or genuinely unsafe, or is a total stranger you'll likely never meet again busting your balls in a game for a minute or two (that you can walk away from at any moment)?
Of course the game is frustrating, but it's really not that serious.

As someone with 1.7k hours now who plays almost exclusively solo WOO is not used when you "don't know tiles"
When you play solo, you don't know which pallets have been used and which haven't. Sometimes you get teammates who know how to play and don't waste them, other times you have people who camp the shack pallet and then get hit while dropping it anyway. WOO let's you see which pallets are up so you can navigate more safely. I'd argue that WOO + Kindred is the strongest solo queue perks you can have.

You'll have to excuse Tony - he likes to exaggerate a lot - forgetting that people can go watch his VODs to see how he gets beaten a lot without people running "meta" perks. He's a hardcore killer main who does nothing but trash survivors then whines when they do/say anything to him. It's quite funny how much he rages at anything survivors do...and of course every match he thinks is a SWF.

Why wouldn't I comment? I'm not mad that this thread was created, just don't get it. 🤷♂️

A purple key with nothing on it.

Not gonna lie, I get pissed off when I’m trying to do a rift challenge that involves blinding the killer and they bring Lightborn. It’s especially infuriating when I’m the only one in the lobby with a flashlight as well, yet they still feel the need to bring Lightborn.
Still, you’re in your right to run whatever perk you want. It’s not like Lightborn will win you games unless the stupid survivors don’t realize what’s happening and keep trying to get flashlight saves.

What even is that matchmaking...

If they felt the need to shame you for using Lightborn against their flashlights, you were absolutely in the right to use Lightborn against their flashlights.

Smh. 3 survivors equip flashlights- ######### do you think is going to happen? I always bet on either lightborn or Franklin’s. Usually it’s Franklin’s.
If I have a flashlight equipped and load into a lobby where two ppl already have them, I remove mine. Not worth getting caught with your pants down trying to blind the killer as he approaches menacingly for a free hit.
People and their entitlement these days. To getting worse, I swear.

That's more my issue with lightborn. The 100% effectiveness. I don't feel anything should 100% remove stuff, before it functioned fine in that regard. To pull off a lightborn blind you basically had to waste your entire flashlight and the killer would need to be making mistakes. Immunity is just a lazy design. You know what would've been a cool design? Having the light give the killer BUFFS.

But my guess would be he took the perk in the lobby to counter their flashlights. I bet if survivors could swap perks to calm spirit vs doctor for every game against them they would be shamed for it, too. Survivors just dont have that kind of information, while the killer has.

Nah, I like the immunity better. I used one of four perk slots, I clearly do not want to be blinded. Take the hint, lol.

I'm sure you do considering it entirely removes an item from the equation, which no perk should do. If you got blinded with old lightborn you deserved it. Having buffs for when an attempt occurs would be stronger. I really doubt old lightborn was that far from 100% anyways.

Lol well that's a new one. My only issue is that the few times I actually run a flashlight the majority of the time it's those games I see lightborn :'(
I'd never attack the killer for it, though lmao

I dont agree with the way Lightborn is atm, but perk shaming is not okay regardless of that.

From a DS user that tells you everything you need to know. 🤣🤣🤣

Require skill?
I don't think they know what Perks are in general.

That's on YOU. Turn the post game chat off.

I mean, they're shaming others for perk selection, of all things. You're expecting too much.

right that's on the killer for using a perk to counter flashlights. okay
