Tying Gameplay and Lore closer together?
Still unable to really play or enjoy DBD because there are a lot of issues on PS4.
But I absolutely love the lore. I am always waiting to hear and read more about survivors, killers, the entity, and how the DBD universe ties together. I even enjoy listening to and reading theories.
I am new here, so I doubt I am the first, but I was wondering if some older killers could benefit from their lore?
For instance, even before this latest tomb, the Clown's obsession with collecting fingers was a central theme to him. It is almost immediately revealed in his trailer. He has two addons, Redhead's Pinky and Tattoo's Middle Finger. What would be the possible implications of this lore being a in-game mechanic? Say, if his Mori gave him a survivor's finger just as the animation shows, and each survivors finger was a unique addon that can only be acquired that way.
Or if the Trapper had more than bear traps? One type fires a limited range projectile when triggered, another is a harmless but blinding flash, etc, forcing the killer to pick 2 types, and survivors guessing.
Or Nemesis begins with a limited stat boost if there are any S.T.A.R.S among survivors?
Anyway, just some musings on tying lore further into gameplay. Though, I imagine it wouldn't be easy to implement.

I don't think the ease of implementation would be the main issue. Rather, it would make balancing, which barely exists as is, even more of a nightmare.
