DC penalty is harsh
we should be able to D/C twice a day before the timer hits 30 minutes ; any longer than 30 minutes is nuts . is this a casual game or not ?

It's definitely harsh right now, with the up-tick of hackers, and optimization issues. DC penalty is absolutely needed, maybe it shouldn't hit 72hrs, maybe it shouldn't even hit over an hour, but it is necessary, but right now it's only harming those who are having issues but love the game enough to try and fight through those.

If it is such a casual game, why are you rage quiting because things are not going your way... entitled much?
25 -
We ain't wrong, though. ;)
5 -
- Because i paid for the game , you didn't buy my copy
- I bought it for my own self enjoyment , i don't owe anyone or complete strangers online jackshit , that never did anything for me. didnt pay for my internet , didnt pay for my console, didnt pay for my subscription , but yet i owe somebody online something ?
you're the entitled one for thinking people should sacrifice their own enjoyment of a game for yours .
1 -
You’re part of the problem sounds like.
19 -
and what delusional first-world problem is that ?
0 -
The problem of thinking that DC penalty should be lessened.
9 -
If you're DC'ing, you are quite simply ruining the game for the other 4 players in that match - hence we have the DC penalty in place, as it's clearly not behaviour that's wanted in the game.
18 -
The problem that causes so many others to have to deal with a boring 3v1. I’ve seen people DC on their FIRST DOWN and when things don’t go their way when they’re not entitled that. DCing is a huge problem and the penalty is good for the game.
5 -
And the devs don't own it to you to support this mentality in online pvp multiplayer games.
The user agreement has paragraphs including the behaviour that the distributor of the software sets as requirement to participate. Otherwise they make use of their right to limit the user in their accessibility to their software, up to a Perma ban.
9 -
imagine being put in time-out by a video game in real-time . it should be lessened , its just a game . 30 minutes is more than enough , you never sat in time-out for 30 minutes at recess before have you angel?
0 -
I like many, many others also paid for the game and bought it for my own enjoyment.
When you DC you are negatively impacting 4 other players. Players who rage quit should not have a grace period just because they don't like how a match is going.
9 -
"imagine being put in time-out by a video game in real-time"
That's not hard to imagine because that is not uncommon to see in video games.
10 -
whats the point of this comment ? who said anything about removing it ?
0 -
who said anything about removing it for the 3rd time ? the bots are out in full force .
and hypothetically , if there was no penalty , guess what ? sigh you could D/C too! find another match .
0 -
I wish camping and tunneling were behavior you didn't want in the game I'd cheer if that ever became a bannable offense.
1 -
The last two people you replied to did not say anything about removing the DC penalty.
7 -
what do i owe them though ?
0 -
The amount of times and ways that survivors throw games is astronomical, this is a deterrent to those that are passionate about throwing matches and need to be treated like a toddler because they haven’t learned to not ruin things for others yet. Act like a toddler and enjoy the timeout. Don’t let the gate hit your diaper on the way out.

2 free DC per player means with in a perfect ratio of survivor and killer UP TO 8 games with a DC for each killer and 2 dc'ed killer for every survivor. That is a lot per day.
Even worse is that the survivor to killer ratio is way over 4:1 and closer to 8:1 at peak hours. This means even more potential DC in every game.
7 -
It's not hard to imagine, with the amount of other multiplayer games that do it.
5 -
and we all don't owe eachother anything . i don't get why you guys think people owe others something in a video game . we all got the game for ourselves not to care about whoever else is playing it .
0 -
You agreed to the "terms and services" and while yes, most of us didn't read it, it is still there, valid and has our everyones signature.
So we all have to obey the general rules of this "DBD society" just like in real life. And just like there is police and other forms of law enforcement, do has DBD it's ways.
8 -
Not all of us.
1 -
And when you play an online game, you're signing up to the EULA of that game and have to play by those game rules. DC'ing is against those rules, hence it's punished.
14 -
they implied it.
they literally implied it. i said nothing about removing it .
0 -
How does one literally imply something?
6 -
And the vast majority of the community, dbd's "society", agree that ragequitting is selfish and ruins a trial for everyone else, therefore is frowned upon and gets penalized.
Just like for example urinating in public in the real world.
7 -
that includes friends. if your friends got it - you all got it for eachother . nobody else , i.e. complete strangers that think you owe them a good time despite yours .
0 -
Damn. Breaking out the rules
1 -
alright , youre right . i disagree with it and think its BS for video games to have you by the ****s but you're right . i got nothing else to say . i signed their stupid ToS thats abused by corporations , so i deal with it . video games are serious ######### these days.

How does someone DC'ing ruin the match? What exactly is ruinned? Is it your ability to play? Is it your chances of winning ?(depending on what a win is to you)
Someone DC'ing makes Hatch easier for 3 guys and means 1 less player using resources so it makes chases easier for Survivors and the only detriment is there's 1 less person doing gens and rescues but escaping has less requirements and evading the killer became easier cause there's more resources to use so how is it ruinned?
Someone DC'ing robbs killer of a few Pop's, a BBQ stack, a Devour Stack, if it's the Obsession DC'ing then it robbs PWYF, STBFL, DL, etc BUT there's 1 less guy to chase and waste time on so there's a trade off. Where exactly is it ruinned?
I keep hearing "it ruins the match for everyone" but nobody points out what exactly is different. A DC is just like a Kill, 1 less player. Should killers get penalized for killing then? Cause 1 less player ruins the match? Should Tombstone Piece Myers not exist then since he can dry up someone fast and find someone else to Mori? That's 1 player out of the game quit fast does that count as them not even participating? Not participating would be the same as Dc'ing right?

literal as in you can clearly read where its implied . the implication is literally in their sentences .
0 -
it's selfish but its not wrong . people should look after themselves first.
0 -
Where is it implied?
Chances of survival go way down if someone leaves early. 3v1 is substantially more in the Killer's favor than 4v1. That's why they changed things so that a game where someone DCs before the match loads is cancelled.
5 -
A killer DC'ing ruins the match completely for the 4 other players that have queued and want to play that match.
A survivor DC'ing has ruined the match for the 3 other survivors, it's making their position much harder to play the game, to escape the match which is their goal. The game is designed around 4 survivors and 5 gens, if someone DC's at 5 gens for example that makes it so much harder for the remaining survivors, I know as a killer when that happens it's pretty much GG because it makes the match so much easier.
9 -
OFC 3v1 is better for the killer than 4v1...That's the already base state of the game so the DC doesn't matter. DC is an early Kill.
0 -
Selfish doesn't have a place in team based multiplayer online games. Neither DBD nor rocket league, league of legends, rainbow six siege, overwatch, counterstrike, and so on. Just to name a few of the games i played that have a penalty.
Only games with huge team sizes like battlefield with 16:16 or 32:32, were a DC has less impact or with team refill/reconnect feature don't have a leaver penalty to my knowledge.
5 -
The point is that the DC ruins the game for the Survivors by immediately and unfairly stacking the game against them heavily.
6 -
Doesn't matter how you see this game. It is a multi-player game meaning when you hit ready you are telling 4 other people you are here to play.
If you can't be a good sport, then you shouldn't be allowed to play. That simple.
Entity bless the DC penalty. I only wish serial DCers would be banished to the shadow realm to play with their own kind ^^
7 -
Wow you are so selfish. Maybe others don’t want to eat the DC penalty for themselves and also have to wait another long que time just to get another game. I think that it would be best for everyone to stop DCing so games don’t get ruined.
6 -
too bad so sad. HYPOTHETICALLY , if there was no d/c penalty , you could leave too and find another match. but the d/c penalty forces everyone to stay even if someone leaves , LMAO!
0 -
I believe the "too bad so sad" goes to the people who rack up 30+ minute penalties. :P
4 -
Also it kills the fun for both sides. Except for killer player that like getting a trial handed to them on a silver platter.
4 -
and it doesn't matter what you have to say about it , see how that works ? nobody owes you anything , and your comment is just an opinion .
entitled.
0 -
yeah , i bet you wish that was me huh ? too bad so sad . ;)
0 -
So maybe you should probably focus on the reasons why killers DC instead of the fact that they DC'ed and should be punished... You don't fix the result of the issue you fix what causes the issue. You don't punish DC's you make it so DC'ing isn't part of the process.
No a Survivor DC'ing doesn't ruin the match, your get less work to do for Escape option and you have someone using less resources. It's harder to do gens yes but you have more chase options. You're trading efficiency for extra survivability.
OFc it's easier for killer in 3v1 but their point is to sacrifice, so over time it should go 3v1, 2v1 and posibly 1v1 and killer getting 4 sacrifices so where is a DC ruinning what the game is supposed to be? No it's not GG, it's only GG cause entitled survivors just quit, that's admitting you're not good enough without numbers advantage when that isn't the reality the game is designed to help survivors, the notion that 1 survivors is powerless is completly false, survivor is the power role cause the game is designed for you to survive, it's why the Hatch exists...
0 -
Makes no difference to me. Those who DC will get large penalty times, and I'm all for it.
7 -
And no game would be played to completion ever again.
And btw when there are penalties, everybody left in the trial takes more or less satisfaction from the knowledge that the ragequitter will, if they don't change they attitude, either definitely not play in their next trial or even not play this game ever again.
3 -
So a killer getting a kill is unfair too? I imagine getting a kill at 5 gens means that none of the 4 did anything useful but the blame is the one guy that died first?
