What do you think about my reducing/increasing grind in dead by daylight (rant)

So first there are currentlu 179/(182 after new killer will be released) perks in the game . Limited amout of offerings, addons and items for survivors.

What i don't like in this :

  • because of limited amout of addons and offering , addons that i like are getting out of my hand quickly even if the addons are brown (example plain funnel)
  • because of limited items survivors that i like the most has all the perks i have unlocked but is running out of items and offering

" ugh but if you running out of items just level them up more duh"

1) if i need only specifing thing then at most i can gather 2 per blood web

2) leveling after prestige 3 level 50 feels to me like a waste of bloodpoints especially if i have all the perks on character

and there comes my idea , what if on level 50 prestige 3 character would become " one with entity"

"one with entity - As ( name character here) survived / killed with entity survived / kill with it , entity started to share its capacity. Now you can equip any offering , perk , items or addon from any character that is also fused with it"

So in short there will be cross inventory

"Ugh it has been sugested over ( insert big number here) times. there wont be anything like it cause it would reduce play time and devs wouldnt want it"

but here is the catch because sharing is on prestige 3 for most players that that live this game it would increase it because lets be honest not much of use have every character on it. i only have one survivor and was a pain so unless you are otzdarva that lives of it then good luck

" Wait offering , items and perks could have worked but how would addons for killer work?"

as every killer has at least similirant amounts of addons there is simple solution , add numerical value to them .

what i mean is for example

traper brown addons would be trapper sack -1 trapper gloves- 2 strong coil -3 padded jaws - 4 and for doctor brown addons would be order 1 - 1 calm 1 - 2 maple knight - 3 and electrode - 4

so now if you before level 50 had 34 trapper sacks and 20 calm 1 then after 50 you would just have a total of 54 for all characters , of course if you used it numer would decrease for everyone

I think the overall concept is great- the idea itself could probably use a bit of work- but a huge conversation within the community is providing more rewards / incentives to prestige. Many players don't prestige simply because they don't see the worth or value in resetting all your perks & general experience just for a single piece of bloody clothing (which the prestige looks way better after the visual update for characters) and an extremely minor boost in RNG as to the rarity of which items / offerings appear in your bloodweb.

Making it so that survivors or killers who have made it all the way to P3 no longer have to pay bloodpoints for a select number of items / offerings is a massive incentive. It's the kind of huge incentive that would leave absolutely zero doubt as to whether or not players want to prestige and the question itself would be a relic of the past.

And anecdotally, I absolutely agree that after you make it to P3 all perks, you're a bit more hesitant to sink your bloodpoints into a bloodweb for a character you've got everything for. I main Ace, I've got almost every single cosmetic outfit for him except for 3 of them that are all locked behind paywalls, but because I play him so often I have literally almost 0 BP bonus offerings on him. So if I want to use offerings to reduce the grind, I have to play characters other than my main and start using their offerings (I've got everyone at least to level 50). It's been awhile since I've last played Ace and its a feelsbadman moment because I've put so much time into him and he's my favorite character, but I've simply run out of offerings. I put a million into him a few days ago but even BP bonus offerings aren't guaranteed and I still don't have all that many, not enough to last me more than day's worth of matches probably.

It's an idea that sounds crazy at first but the more you think about it the more it actually doesn't seem all that bad. I think if anything, either there's a restriction on the kind of items / offerings you're getting "for free" (getting to P3 itself isn't what I'd call free but okay) like you wouldn't get ultra rares like BNP or the Odd Bulb. But you'd get access maybe to all common and uncommon items / offerings.

Another idea I just had is maybe to tremendously reduce the bloodpoint cost of all items / offerings after you hit P3. so instead of 3K, 4K, 5K, etc. Bloodpoint costs for common items would be reduced down to 1K and escalate from there, so 1K, 2K, 3K, all the way to 5K for ultra rares. Hell, you could reduce it even further by going up in increments of 500 BP instead of 1K BP. Making the maximum 3K.

Of course this WOULDN'T affect perks who would keep their current BP costs, and having to return to P3 characters to get new perks on them as they are created and added to the game I think is still a reasonable enough ask. Getting rid of perk tiers might make this even better.

And to anybody who might still be skeptical, I must remind that this is all because the player has reached the end-goal for that character, the grind for the game isn't over once you P3 a character. You've got 27 total survivors and 25 total killers and you're bound to want to prestige a few others after you Prestige a single one, and beyond this players still have the archives to grind through and every tome lasts slightly upward of 2 months every few weeks. But once you've hit prestige 3 with somebody, that should be the end-goal rather than maintaining a character and their inventory. Keeping a character be plentifully stocked is not a proper goal to work toward, and that's not a true proper incentive, as a player that doesn't make me want to play Dead By Daylight, it only adds to a needlessly long grind- it becomes tiresome and tedious. Especially when you start to have other characters at Prestige 3 and have to maintain them all on top of working toward prestiging new characters.

But overall, I like this concept a lot. This is the kind of big incentive that would really fill that vacuum that players ask for where they've got no reason to prestige at the same time this also tackles the problem of a ridiculously insane grind. Allowing players to rest easy and take their mind off maintaining any number of survivors that have made it to the end-goal of being P3-All Perks. Hitting two birds with one stone so to speak.
