Advanced camera option for Killer.

I'm not a fan of how the Killer's view doesn't reflect how they actually look at all.

As you can clearly see by this video, how they look from the killer's view is VASTLY different from what Survivors see in most cases. They hold their weapon up from the Killer's view, but for Survivors it's down to their side in most cases. I'm not really sure why it's like this, I guess to put emphasis on your weapon or something?

Additionally, the Killer's camera is not exactly at their head in the case of taller Killers, and is more around where their heart would be.

I think it would be nice for an option in the settings for "advanced Killer view" where your model looks exactly the same to you as it does to the Survivors, and your camera is placed on your actual head and not your chest. This would be only a cosmetic thing, and would have no real effect on gameplay otherwise, so I think this would be a nice thing to add for people who would rather have a more accurate view of their Killer.

That kind of camera option allows killers to see where they aren't supposed to. I would like taller killers to have taller POVs though

No, it wouldn't. All it would do is allow Killers to more accurately see theirself.

You should read about how game development works to get the basic idea of why they did this.

    • The game has a fixed size for Killers, which is Average or Tall, it's like that so we have a pattern.
    • Most animations on Killer screen are messed up because you're in first person view, so they need to adapt the model and animation different from the Survivor screen. Your walking, picking, attacking, power animations, everything is made in a way to not interfere with your camera and the results is the animations being horrendous, there's ways to avoid this in game development but it would be just unnecessary extra work in DBD since the Killer is always in first person.
    • In order to make the player more immersed with their Killer, they can see their main weapons, because it would be strange just having a empty camera with nothing, and to achieve this they need to break the animation by moving their arm up in a strange way, to give that feeling of a dangerous Killer holding a weapon

When you start the trial, the camera spins 360 to show your model from the Survivors perspective, then when the camera is going to first person, your model is changed to what it needs to be for Killers. This image you showed was a bug that just showed how Killer animation are when they're in first person.

But I agree with Killer having different camera heights. Major difference between Killer is just that they are either 4.4 or 4.6 and are also either average or tall. Would be better to give certain Killer different values so that playing different Killer actually gives you different advantages, aside from only changing your power.

Backing their camera up at all allows them to angle it like survivors do to see around things

This can cause problems as if we did that, more cosmetic obstructions would occur (Pyramid Head's pyramid will be stuck in view the whole game), and this could also give an advantage to those with this as now they can see through most things, however the angle can cause a bigger issue, mainly to taller killers. In dbd, aiming up and down will adjust where you are hitting at, which can cause aiming up to miss a survivor directly in front of you, taller killers like Plague would have to always look down to hit a survivor
