What has made Blight so popular the last months?

I remember the first months of Blight people were calling him a mediocre killer and not a lot people were playing him even though it was BETTER than now due to undying not being nerfed and being able to Jflick. I'm curious what pushed so many people into playing this killer, what made you change your mind or give him a chance.

I think his turning was made easier, especially for console players, and he got the pov fix a few months ago.

I despise playing against him. Give me all the spirit games please.

He got some QoL changes. Also, you have to let go of the notion that nerfing or buffing perks is the same as nerfing or buffing killers.

Oh true i remember the atrocious FOV, that alone could have changed a lot of minds

Undying was literally the best perk on Blight, nerfing undying nerfed the max potential of Blight, i don't think you can argue otherwise in good faith. He is obviously still very good but it was obviously a big nerf to his most powerful and popular build.

People finally became accustomed to his skillset and ability, literally. Wish people gave Hawkins more time to become accustomed as well.

I’m not sure. My theory is since they made him actually viable on console, console players including myself have began to really enjoy him, so that’s 2 additional platforms that use him regularly now. But again, that’s just my theory.

This is actually easy to answer. He felt awful when he was released, so fewer people played him, especially on console.

One of the reasons I hated him when he came out was because his camera was so low. They raised it. They also fixed his controls on console, so he's actually fun to play as and the easiest high-mobility killer to steer.

After the devs fixed him, the number of people who could enjoy playing as him greatly increased.

he was literally 100% impossible to play on console with the turning rate alone. I almost wanted to cry the first time I played the new Blight because it was like a whole new killer.

He's fun and rewarding, and generally fun to play against. Spirit bugged, Freddy nerfed, he's the next easiest top tier killer in the game for mediocre players to do well, but even then he's still demanding on them to do well. You can bounce from gen to gen all you want with Tinkerer, it won't win you games.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. His camera FOV and limited turning made him awful for console. He is much more user-friendly for those players now. Once they iron out his sliding issues, I think he will be in a mostly perfect spot. A strong, fun killer with a high skill ceiling that still has counterplay. The only thing that may need to be addressed is some of his add-ons.

He became playable on console and can now do like 99% of what PC players can do, he actually feels very nice on console now. He's a fun and good Killer, that is why he is being played. Most Killers are okay-ish at best.

Turning was improved for console and his POV being increased made him not feel like you were playing as an oddly tall midget. Mix that in with being a killer who many are considering to be up near Spirit and Nurse with strength mixed with the amount of mechanical skill needed to play him, and a lot of people really enjoy him.

Personally, I don't find him too fun to play (Killers like him, Oni and Billy leave me really disoriented from how fast they move.) and he's not my favourite to verse, but I'm happy people can find enjoyment from him, since he is a well-balanced Killer.

It's simple, Lilith Omen has made Blight as popular as he is currently. He's been growing rapidly on Twitch, sometimes being up there with the most viewers for streamers who play DBD. He's shown the community that he's viable, and his guide that he made as of recent has also helped many people start playing Blight more. Not to mention that other bigger DBD creators are recognizing how good Blight is as of late, I feel like Otz putting Blight in S tier also really helped the community finally start showing Blight attention and so on. So, what has made Blight so popular, is content creators.

    That's not completely true.

Many people were playing and learning blight well before these content creators gave him any attention. Back when his POV was still the shortest in the game

Sure they've helped show how strong he is and the guides have def helped. Me for example, I learned some things from Scott's guide and Ascensionwho's guides but I don't credit them for 'popularising' blight

That's like saying Tru3 is responsible for popularising hit and run wraith. He wasn't, he just showed people how strong it was.
