Is Tentacle recovery faster than a basic attack recovery?

I've been playing a lot of Nemesis and dealing with the "hold W" meta has been interesting.

Nemesis' Tentacle cooldown is 2.5 seconds long, hit or whiff. So similar to Huntress, I've been aiming for "M2 into M1" to try and down people quickly and it seems to actually be working pretty well!

According to the wiki, a basic attack recovery speed is 3 seconds by default. But does anyone know if this is still true nowadays?

Also not sure if STBFL reduces the total duration of a basic attack by 40%, or increases the recovery rate by 40%.

EDIT: corrected Tentacle cooldown to 2.5 seconds.

It's 2,5s exactly like normal basic M1. But you can move slightly while in that cooldown is it's kind of better then average M1 but not by much.

STBFL work on only basic M1 attacks, no powers, meaning you recover 40% faster.

EDIT - sorry, basic attack seems to be exactly 3s. I always thought it was 2,5s, huh interesting.

Yes. Tentacle hit is 2.5s but successful m1 hit is 3.2s so tentacle is faster

Thanks for the correction on the tentacle, 2.5 seconds then. And so the wiki is wrong then? I assume it doesn't get updated much.

Also I know STBFL doesn't work on powers.

It is not, people who run it are very active with all their testing of DBD's old or new stuff. Chapters usually and all info about them (even the deep technical one) gets posted there in matter of a few days with each launch

Ofc always take everything with grain of salt but I'm very confident that info you find on the wiki is accurate.

It gets updated pretty frequently. It just has a very limited amount of people who can properly post and update it, so if any of those posters are unaware of small details like this they won't get added quickly.

So basic attack cooldown is 3 seconds? That would explain why I have been feeling like tentacle into M1 is faster than only using tentacle when you are at a loop, even if it is only 0.5 seconds.

Yeah it would seem so. It's basically about 4 stacks of STBFL with added ability to move a little so it's actually better then I thought.

I really thought basic attack was 2,5s and not 3s, I wonder where I found that original wrong information. Nevermind, this was very educational making me realise how wrong I was about basic attack CD for so long.

Yes, but it's somewhat of a trap because you're giving the survivor an extra health state when they're uninfected. It's generally only useful to use the tentacle when the survivor is A: already infected or B: you couldn't otherwise hit them with an M1. The free health state/speed burst is a huge problem with Nemesis's kit
