I'd love to be able to run Mad Grit, Iron Grasp, Agitation and Light Born on killer and run around the map with a survivor back pack, but most of the time, I get gen rushed to hell if I try to take it easy and have fun. So, I just go back to survivor and have a relaxing time.

Well said. Agreed!

Thats what happens when the devs are too scared to make decent perks

This. When I'm killer, I don't care about the 4k, a 2-3k is a win to me but more than a quarter of the killers I play against must slug for that 4k like their life legitimately depends on it.

What I mean is a 2K should be common even at high level play. Where it's near impossible for everyone to escape but also very hard to pull 4K. Yet what we see is more like Killers that stomp through most solo teams using meta regression and, skilled SWF teams being the only real counter. The result drives a stale meta, where the fun and risky perks aren't reliable enough and everyone burns out playing the same thing over and over again.

Exactly. I think some people misinterpret the devs when they say they are aiming for 2 kills, 2 escapes. That only means they are aiming for a more balanced game where both sides have similar chances to fulfill their objectives, that is, to win. Escape if you're a survivor, kill if you're the killer. That doesn't mean that every killer should strive for making every game a 2K. That doesn't even make sense. Everyone strives for making as much as they can of their objective, and the ballance makes sure the chances are equal.

But thats just not how the game work. Either the survivors complete the objective diligently without wasting too much ressources and the killer can never catch up, or the killer manage to apply enough pressure that the survivors reach a point of no return where they can't complete the objective anymore and will eventually be sacrificied.
That hypotethical 2k 2 escapes middle ground rarely happen because its in the nature of the game to slide one way or the other. Wich is exactly why killers overwhelmingly use perks that help them slow down generators and waste less time finding and chasing survivors in the early game, while survivors gravitate toward perks that give them extra ressources and avoid the late game point of no return.
The meta does not dictate how the game is played, its the other way around. And nothing will change as long as the reasons why the meta exist in the first place are baked into the core gameplay of DBD.

I always try to base my games, as Killer AND Survivor, to 2 Hooks a Generator. If I, the Killer, manage 2 Hooks per Gen completed, I end the match with everyone two-hook and 2 dead. As Survivor, if more than 2 Hooks happen before a Generator is popped, I consider my team to be falling behind and will usually stick to a gen over helping others. Same with the other way around, if a Generator pops before 2 Hooks have happened, I'll usually feel it safe to ditch generators in favour of helping others.

It will likely never change. The metaperks for both sides are roughly the same for the last few years, and I don't see anything happening that would change this. A new game mode with perk restrictions would definietly help with the stale meta, but let's be real, we won't ever get a new game mode. Also, don't waste your time writing posts like this. BHVR ignores what the players want (just like Blizzard did, look at how their games have been doing for the past few months) and BHVR simps will jump at your throath for saying negative things over their beloved game. You see, you are not allowed to have negative opinion in 2021 let alone share them with your fellow players. My personal solution to be able to keep playing this game is to only play on chapter releases for a week or two, then wait for the next patch to drop, rinse and repeat each time a new update hits. If you plan on playing this game each day 2-3 hours, you'll quickly get bored, especially if you play alone, especially in red ranks where matches tend to be extremely sweaty. This is how it is. I'd like to say it will get better but what I've experienced in the past few years, it will likely stay the exact same as it is now. Sorry my dude, no improvement is in sight as of now.
ps I'm not ranting. this is the reality whether or not you are willing to accept it. It hurts me deeply too and I wish it wasn't like this, but we can't do much about it other than accept the game as it is.

Perks are over-rated. It's possible to win by using Distressing, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Overwhelming Presence and Gearhead as killer, or Sloppy Butcher, Sole Survivor, No One Left Behind and Buckle Up as survivor.
If someone hasn't got the skill, then perks are almost useless anyway. But yeah, it can be very predictable, which just makes the game easier since you pretty much know what you're up against.
Besides, it's funny how confused a survivor gets when faced with Spies From The Shadows, or even Unrelenting! Or the strength in running perks like Deja Vu or Aftercare when the killer suspects something different.

Survivors like to complain about boring builds, but when you come with a tricky build that actually works you get the saltiest endgame chats ever.

Don’t thank the streamers- thank the 4 man SWF killers constantly run into, which this build barely helps them. Murder on us solos though, I know.

As others have said, the game is designed in such a way that matches typically snowball one way or the other. Whoever gets a good start, inevitably has the upper hand, and if they play well, build off that and get the big win.
It's not entirely one sided, it's not "impossible to get everyone to escape" while killers "inevitably get a 4K". I play in red ranks as both survivor and killer and often get a mix of results, just as many 4 escapes as 4K's, whether I'm killing or surviving. A few 1ks or 3ks here and there, again, either side I play, and sure, 2ks are the minority.
But these results average out, and the average result of a game I believe is around 2.4k, so killers have a slight edge sure, but it's not one-sided in any sense, and still falls pretty close to the target of "2 escapes and 2 kills."

Single surviovr players always complain killers perks.
It's surviovr buffet ??
Years ago,Surviovr learn to tease killer but now surviovr only fix the gen.

I mean I started playing this game that I call dead hard bingo.
Every single match I see at least 3 dead hards, and now I am seeing the same exact perks on the survivors, what is original about dead hard, bt, iw when all 4 use it?
Also you don't need to go to youtube to understand that these days slowdown perks are stronger than before.
Saying that it is a snore fest is the exact same reason why some people stopped playing killer, holding W and pre dropping everything on sight, no one loops anymore, no one outplays anymore, now the game is about regression perks and holding W while the other 3 do gens.

LOL all I mean by it.
