Thank you for permanently activating SBMMR
Pretty good job, so far.
I´m looking forward to 5.2.0

I am...not.
Survivor was fun. Decent teammates and decent Killers.
Killer was miserable.

It's probably good as long as it works. The part that captured me the most is
"SBMM will also allow us to collect more detailed statistics for our design team to work with (e.g. seeing how a perk or power performs among the top 5% of players). This data will allow us to make more meaningful tweaks and balance decisions in the future."
I wonder if they'll ever deliver on that.
17 -
Me too, my killer matches were pretty good during last test. Survivor matches were bad, but i play soloq so they were always bad :/
4 -
This is wonderful news!
11 -
I am all for it. Its going to be rougher playing killer no question. But my goodness was solo queue fantastic as survivor. Practically every match with competent team mates rather than potatoes. It was surreal.
11 -
Maybe your rating was to high? It should lower the more you play with it activated.
14 -
I can't wait to only face blight and some nurses, and play only with them, because every match will be a comp match with makes the game so repetitive...
3 -
Oh great i can't wait to face just Nurse and Blight as survivor and face immersive SWF nonstop as killer.
3 -
It's accurate.
The issue is that it becomes impossible to win at a certain level unless you play Spirit or Nurse.
Since it's a minority of players, BHVR doesn't really care.
My matchups are probably even in terms of skill, but due to poor game balance, I have no shot unless I play Spirit.
9 -
Good. Finally I can try some killers except for my mains and don't feel like #########.
3 -
And I really start to wonder why my mates are all rank 2-4 and myself is 6.
Killer has also to 95% the same build. Yes, really good job. Makes really fun to play. NOT...
2 -
Is it really? While I do agree while MMR was on killer matches were extra sweaty. Overall they did write that they would see how the top 5% performs. So maybe in the long run this would bring better buffs for killers.
4 -
There's no way they don't know the issues the top %'s face.
This video that Scott made sums up that line of thinking fairly well, imo.
8 -
That's what I am hoping. It will open their eyes to what the lower tier killers need. Heck what most of them are going to need if they are not Nurse, Spirit, and Blight.
2 -
I'm so excited to play against full slowdown meta killers every match and get tunnelled off hook over and over. :) I think I'll be uninstalling DBD again when 5.2.0 goes live.
4 -
Or they could collect data from the countless survey's and Q&A's they have which seem useless
2 -
Thanks for not listening BHVR as always, they literally never take feedback into account.
6 -
As someone who's playing a lot more solo survivor lately I'm quite excited about this. It'll mean more challenging killers which could get a bit stale after awhile but I'm still looking forward to better teammates (and not having to dodge survivors with 25hrs).
6 -
Then they will finally get conclusive data and be able to fix this.
7 -
How is that different from the current meta?
10 -
They literally already know and have known for years.
Check the video I linked.
5 -
They may not. Since think about it ranking up as killer is easy. And for survivor it's so-so. But hypothetically say there is a rank 1 killer with 5000 hours and he gets placed vs rank 1 survivors with 100 hours. The killer is going to get the 4 sacrifices since the match placed him vs rank 1 survivors with low experience. So statistically the top rank killers may have an even stats right now, since they throw killers vs either bad survivors or good survivors. When this systems goes live they may see a pattern however. So I rather wait and see what they do next.
1 -
If you are at the top percentile gl facing anything besides nurse and blight. Maybe the games will be more balanced but i will certainly get bored much faster if I keep facing the same 3 killers and same build every game.
2 -
Is MMR on now? because my games were rough this morning.
0 -
what is SBMM?
0 -
As someone who play chil and without toxic manners as killer I will appreciate the SBMMR a lot. I'l be paired with non tryhard survivors mostly and not forced to sweat due simply raising ranks without considering my playstyle.
Of course some high level players whit several thousands of hours who play to win (as some streamers) are angry because they will be paired with full meta SWFs with purple medkits, keys, astringents, syringes, brand new parts, competitive perks etc, I'm so sorry for you, just try to play more chil and the MMR will put you with more chil people after a lose streak, just take it more chil, or play tryhard only with your main killers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7 -
Well, the thing is that most of the people I play with and against currently don't play "meta" all the time. I played some survivor yesterday and faced a bunch of different killers, running different perks and add ons, and playing in different ways. And when I played killer the survivors were similar, all had different builds and playstyles. There was some stuff that was more or less fun than others, but for the most part every match was different.
The last MMR test was like the same really sweaty match over and over. So yeah, it was very much different for me.
1 -
Killers win for MMR, lose for MMR.
It is not skill based and the matching system makes it look like a good match.
1 -
They've said theh know and they aren't interested in balancing for that.
Check Scott's video, which I linked, for more info.
5 -
Yeah, I understand, it's not particularly fun for killers either. Though personally, I'd rather play killer against sweaty survivors than play survivor against sweaty killers. Probably because I play solo so if I get camped into second state and then immediately tunnelled off hook, there's nobody who can do anything about it so I just don't get to play. At least as killer I get to play the game.

I am...hesitant, if what i heard about the most recent test is true then i have no reason to worry, but if it's anything like the tests i actively got to participate in then i'm not going to play a lot
0 -
Time to drop this game then, I'm not ready to face blight nurse and spirit with the same build that camp and tunnel
4 -
I'm excited. The last test was the most fun I had in public matches in a long time. Actually had to try on killer and solo queue teammates were good. I think this will be good for the game in the long run.
4 -
I highly doubt that considering this game is 5 years old now, and even if that was the case, it doesn't change the fact that they're immensly slow at changing things, so good luck seeing a lot stuff being patched in a reasonable amount of time for BHVR's standards.
2 -
What makes you think that you won´t face different loadouts/killers with the SBMMR activated?
Current matches are sweat compared to the last SBMMR Test.
1 -
Skill based matchmaking.
0 -
For the people like me who take the game as an entertaiment instead a competition to win at all cost it's acceptable.
With the current Rank MMR system I'm forced to play more sweaty and using meta perks if I don't want to be humiliated (being humiliated is not fun), specially keeping in mind that I don't usually play none of the OP killers.
0 -
You're most likely not going to ever get that kind of Killer every game.
I think most people who play the game casually won't see killers like Dowsey or Otz or god forbid teams like Oracle. Their MMR would be too high for that.
0 -
that's meaningless since they don't balance the game for those players. Good players will always abuse the broken stuff until there's no broken stuff to be abused. If they make playing survivor harder the vast majority of survivor players will not rank up.
0 -
Yeah streamers have a good reason for being against SBMMR. Because then they suddenly won´t be able to show their "watch me get 50 4ks in a row" streams. Because they will actually face players at a similar skill level.
13 -
You think high-level DBD is fun?
You think it's balanced?
1 -
But they said they would.
It might be the balance shift we (at least i) have been waiting for.
0 -
This right here. Doesn't matter the skill of players if some killers just can't compete...
2 -
Pretty sure Otz even said "The Nemesis 50 Wins Streak in a Row will probably be the last 50 Wins Streak video before MMR comes out"
Really, that is what wins streaks are. There are a lot of tough games, but the majority are often curbstomps. Not that those videos aren't impressive in their own right, I still think getting 50 wins without add-ons is already amazing. But you get what I mean.
3 -
My own experience comparing matches before SBMM, with SBMM live, and after SBMM was turned off?
1 -
But you won't be at the highest levels of play.
Unless you expect to 4k every game, you most likely will NEVER be near that level of survivors.
Survivors who are optimal and escape every game will never meet killers like you. If MMR works the way it's intended (which from the experiment, it seems to be), then you won't suffer as a consequence of it.
3 -
Depends on which Killer you´re playing on which map and which addons/items are in play. In DBDLeague at least I think there´s around 2-3k average, even for Trapper lol
0 -
They don't know what the top %s face. That's why they nerfed Freddy's pallets and made Pop 45 seconds.
4 -
how manny times have they said something and then....How long have console players been waiting for a playable game?
1 -
It's more balanced than people think. A lot of times what happens is killers get completely overmatched and think it's a game issue instead of a skill one. Obviously Clown/Legion tier is going to struggle a bit, but high C tier and above can compete.
