Why can killers see everything from the Survivors, but they can´t see anything from him?

Killers should see stuff like the survivors at the campfire and the items in their hands, this is completely intentional and there's perks that make a whole lot less sense if they can't be used as "counter" perks.

No one should have access to profiles or even names in my opinion, at least not until after the match. And yes, that includes survivors seeing the names of other survivors. In my opinion simple 2-click access to profiles shouldn't even be a thing there, there would most likely be way less angry profile comments or whatever if people actually had to go out of their way to try to manually find the profile from the name - most people quite simply wouldn't bother doing so.

Also leads to this megamind thing where people make assumptions about private/friends only profiles. Because clearly there's no other reason than DBD to have a profile like that, not like friends only or private is the default for most parts of Steam profiles or anything 🙃

Obviously this is all from a PC/Steam perspective, I'm not aware of how all of this works on console.

i don't recall any instance where someone watched a horror movie or played a horror game and went "how come the movie's resident psychopath can find all of the people in the movie except for the final girl?" or "how come the villain knows where i am at any given time but i can't track him?"

same logic, killer's are meant to kill you, they do that by either running you over or by preparing ambushes and/or traps, they can't do that if you know who they are and what they're doing at all times

there is a reason 3rd party communication software breaks the game

Bro i even said, that it would be unfair, if the survivor would see it. It´s the damn same thing for the Survivor.

Because some killer get countered by some perk or item:

Wraith: bring spine chill and a flashlight, or even SB, wait last second and the killer either waste his uncloak or stop it to do it again 10s later, in any case, you most likely gained enaugh time to get to a loop.

Nurse: dead hard, maybe kindred to know where she go after an unhook.

Legion, plague: dead hard and maybe resilience.

    And the list goes on.

While for the survivor you can only see their profile and item which tell you nothing about their playstyle other than maybe a key or a commonly used skin.

    It's a 1v4 game for the killer.

Killers need to see items in lobbies so they can plan their build.

Fun fact, aquiring data in the background for a potential sbmmr and a ######### rank based matchmaking being on, that even has gotten changed to speed up matching thanks to highly imbalanced queues at the cost of correct matching, have nothing to do with each other

I agree that Killer shouldn't be able to see Survivor names+profiles before the game starts. As far as items, it's to give the Killer an intentional advantage since there are four Survivors vs. one Killer.

Seeing names only benefits SWF because people who hate them can just dodge and leave them to killers who don't mind. If a killer found out as the game started, imagine all of those survivor rulebook violations that are about to occur.

Then again, SWF with matching names probably get it anyways. Lol.

survivors should not see the killer because that would give them insane advantages, they could bring items, perks and maps to make their experience as misserable as possible. However imo the killer should not be able to see survivor names, but should be possible to go their profile so they can see if they have Vacs and stuff like that, most people have private profiles so it doesnt matter anyway, i susually change my name to silly stuff to not get recongnized aswell so lol.

  • Uhm no when i see a legacy claudette i wanna see if they have a private profile or not i would dodge legacy’s if i cant check their profile
