This is NOT normal
This chapter is yet another example that you all HAVE to prioritize game health and optimization.
As much as I love DBD, it is the only game I can think of that has game-breaking bugs with every update. I can't even remember the last time a chapter had an overall smooth release. It has essentially become the norm for DBD, but this is NOT a normal thing for games, nor should players be expected to tolerate it.
I understand bugs happen, but the devs need to take note from other companies and developers because this does not happen with any other game I can think of.
Players can't enjoy new content if the game doesn't work. The game has how many licenses now? Please sit on that money for a while and focus on promoting game longevity and player retention.

We've been saying this for years
Still no budging on sticking to their schedule
Except this time it's even worse because the content has been split up

And yet people keep buying the DLC, so it's never going to change.

Ya even though they're a smaller game company the people at the top are loaded and could hire some more staff and actually have a team that fits the demand for this game.

Games die everyday due to poor business management. BHVR isn't exempt from this.

They have been so far. It boggles my mind that people don't punish them with DLC boycotts for the way they treat console players, for example. I haven't spend money on this game in about two years because I've been unhappy with it.

I'm PC so I can't speak for Console. But I am aware of how bad it is for Console. If I was a console player I would've requested a refund and uninstalled the game. Actually I used to play console a lot until I realized PC just has the edge over console. I had Xbox all the way through Xbox One until I switched over.

In general I agree. But I think Pinhead is such an awesome killer, that I would agree more with every dlc prior to this dlc.

Behaviour Interactive has 600+ employees, and is the self-described largest independent game developer and publisher in Canada. As I type this, Dead By Daylight is the 9th most-played game on Steam (per Steamcharts), it's in the top 10 of all games being played on Twitch at this moment, and only two months ago it had its highest peak player count of all-time on Steam.
Stop with the sob stories. Behaviour is not some scrappy upstart company. They are well-capitalized, well-staffed, and yet still unable to conduct a smooth DLC launch five years in. Just today, they've had to disable the RPD map, the new killer is causing random disconnects, and Freddy's dream pallets can stun him. It's always two steps forward, one step back.
They don't listen to (and do not want) external feedback, they aren't transparent about anything, and they have repeatedly demonstrated that they don't have a firm grasp on the things that are wrong with their game. They can't/won't fix their screwy code base that leads to the type of issues listed above, they will never forsake a few almighty dollars for an aggressive game health update cycle (or two), and they have no incentive to ever change this outlook because in spite of everything I typed in the last two paragraph, the things in paragraph #1 continue to remain true.

You're wrong.
It's always one step forward and two steps back.

Then why are people saying they're a small game company? Hmm then I redact my saying on them being a small game company. But everything else I say holds water. Note I'm not defending nor attacking BHVR. Just using this forum and this game as an example of content/products coming out unfinished. So if anything what you say makes me more inclined to agree with you and that there should be no excuse for BHVR's lack of good content coming out.

It's because people have mythologized this idea that Behaviour is some little developer. They may have been at one time, but they're not now. They will celebrate their 30th anniversary next year, and they've developed a lot of games, and made a lot of money off Dead By Daylight.
And no, there's no excuse for this. There's no reason I should be able to go to their Twitter account on the launch day of a new DLC pack and reliably expect to see a bunch of issues of the magnitude of the ones I am seeing today. There's no reason they can't catch this kind of stuff before launch; to me, it's a sign that their PTB windows and pre-launch QA periods need to be longer, but for some reason they won't budge on changing their process, even though this KEEPS. HAPPENING.

Than they should really evaluate themselves. With those facts it's pretty apparent.

Not to mention, Netease is also a shareholder in Behavior Interactive. To the point they have a representative on the Board of Directors.

Yeah, I wish. I've been playing this game for about 3 years; I figure if something was gonna dramatically change, it would have happened by now.

How's the Copium

Something something meaningless internet buzzword

They have GOT to slow down and revise their arbitrary 3-month schedule for chapters, they keep biting off more than they can chew. They clearly can't handle this pace and that's before getting into the ever-growing grind. Constantly throwing in more perks like that just makes it all that more difficult for new players/accounts to level up the characters. I switched to PC a half year ago and I'm nowhere near "finishing" the grind.
If they insist on this ridiculous 3-mo schedule, then they can either amp up the blood points or rework the perks into two tiers instead of three. Add on unplayable new chapters and it makes for an angry audience.

I'm sorry, did you not READ my post?
I said that we've been saying BHVR need to focus on game health for years, but they are insistent on not doing it
And that this time, it's even worse because the chapter we've been given has barely any content

Part of that is because it's a meme, much the same the Hearthstone community joke about them being a new/small time company....when it's Activision-Blizzard. The same reason "Did a good job so far" and "go play something else, I hear Civilization is good" are on-going meme responses to when DBD has issues.
I've been too exhausted to hop into DBD today and hearing all the feedback of DCs and unable to get into games, two maps being disabled, some people's dlc being uninstalled & such just puts me off of wanting to dedicate what time I have to trying. Having a heart condition means having to really pick and choose what I do/want to do each day because of fatigue and having that be used up on a buggy dlc launch isn't sounding too appealing right now.

I've been saying the same thing for the past year or two. They've proven time and time again that a 3 month release schedule is too much for them. I can only imagine what the employees might be having to go through to meet deadlines.
I am quite confident a majority of the player base would take 3 updates in a year with little to no objection if it meant the updates were much better quality.

With a dev team like bhvr I'm not surprised that this has been another failure of a chapter launch.
