Overheating Worse on Menu/Lobby Screens with 5.2.0 Patch (PS4, Switch, and Xbox Series X)

I am on a PS4 Pro. After the update, the main menu campfire screen and the survivor and killer campfire menu/lobby screens put the fans at max. It's bad. It gets hot very quickly. I immediately closed the game, and I worry that it's not safe for the console hardware to play DbD right now.

With the 5.2.0 patch, the fans seem to now be silent on the splash screen. That's great!

The overheating is the same on the Tome and Rift screens (with the fans quickly going to max speed).

I previously submitted a bug report about the splash screen

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/276161/splash-and-tome-rift-screens-cause-overheating#latest

It's so great that that's been fixed! I hope the menu/lobby screens and the Rift/Tome screens can get the same love, and soon, because the game spends a lot of time on the campfire menu/lobby screens. I don't actually feel like it's safe to play the game right now.

You are playing on a 10 years old console... It's sad to hear but this console reached over its limit...

Keep some money for a Ps5 or switch to PC ( by the cost of all your account progression )

Why is it in the store then?

Also educate yourself, ps4 pro is not 10 years old and better looking games run perfect on it. So shhh.

    ^ This.

Much better games (better graphics, more players per lobby, larger maps) run just fine on the PS4. This is an issue with DbD not being optimized. Also, the mods have said that it's not okay for people to tell others to buy a new system to fix their performance problems, because they take performance seriously and are working to fix these issues on PC and consoles.

Also, I did say in my original post that they fixed one overheating issue but worsened another, so obviously these things can be fixed.

    Wow @TragicSolitude

I didn't payed attention to it the first time when I had headphones on but now I did and you are absolutely right.

For me this is worse because I could press x and skip the opening screen fast before but sometimes I have to do things in the main menu. And fans are maxed there now just like in the rift.

I will not play dbd until this is at least back to like it was before. I don't want my console to die bhvr.

This is not even about freezing issues during the game anymore. This is actually concerning.

Update: A bit more information about this issue.

If I start up the PS4 cold and enter DbD, the fans do not immediately go to max on the campfire menu/lobby screens. However, if the console has been on for a bit of time, then the menu/lobby screens max out the fans fast.

On the Nintendo Switch, it looks like there's more fog on the campfire menu/lobby screens. That's weird, the Switch is supposed to be on a really low graphics setting. The fog and other visual effects are a big part of the problem, so those should be the things minimized. Instead, I have matches where the textures don't load in for different elements but hey, look, the fog's there to make sure my framerate stays below 10 fps.

I'm playing on am Xbox Series X. Having the exact same problem.

I've Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, power cycled, and even soft reset the xbox. There is no problems with any other game. It's an issue with Dead by Daylight itself

Wait, so this issue is happening on PS4 Pro, Switch, and Xbox Series X?

[BAD WORD]. What did they do?!
