Too early for me to tell. All my first couple pinhead games were against really solid red rank survivors, so... doesn't feel like it's doing anything different compared to rank matchmaking for me yet

MMR must know that I am a potato survivor though, because my teammates were worse than usual on the survivor side hahaha

Haven’t been able to play today yet so I can’t give my opinion right now.

It's been great for me! They've been very tough and even matches where I don't feel bad about the losses and feel the victories are much sweeter! My last match was as Trapper with a random build of Lightborn, Deerstalker, Distressing and Spies from the Shadows on Lery's, with a 3k epic match!

These are way more fun now.

It's still too early for me to have a solid opinion, but so far a lot of my matches have been well balanced when I'm playing killer. I've been getting around 2-3k average when I don't encounter the plethora of bugs/glitches I did today in most of my matches. Before SBMM I would get a lot of 3-4ks. I enjoy having more balanced games. The survivors I faced kept me on my toes. I expected to get absolutely demolished bringing Trickster into high tier grade matches but I'm pleasantly surprised by how balanced it's been.

Too early to tell, the only time I've played so far was with some friends who are more inexperienced and were lower rank ("grade" now) so we've got that disparity in our ranks making our matchmaking a little less stable than I think it might be if I was in solo queue.

It doesn't seem totally awful right now but give the system awhile to adjust and I'm not super confident after it does as players we will like how it has adjusted and in what ways.

Most importantly however, I can never wholeheartedly support SBMM in good faith until I know more specifics about how the system works. Just some broad criteria / examples of what the devs are considering a victory and how the system works and adjusts etc. The devs shroud a lot of the backstage going ons in DBD in secrecy but that element of secrecy around something as important as a matchmaking system I find is unacceptable. When it comes to matchmaking Transparency is absolutely paramount and critical to making sure the system is actually optimal for the playerbase and isn't somehow screwing things up.

We still don't have any details about the SBMM system, so i have no reason to trust it.

I don't know if they are actually taking important factors into consideration or if the system heavily relies on escapes and sacrifices.

It's too early to tell. It seems like the killers I'm absolutely garbage at are getting easier matches than the ones I'm good at, which is a positive sign. On the survivor side, I'm getting flooded with Pinhead games and no one knows how to play Pinhead yet, so it's hard to tell.

Its alright. Sometimes i feel cheated by MMR, sometimes im very satisfied with it. My only wish is that BHVR was more transparent about how the system functions, it would make me essentially move right over into the "Yes, i enjoy SBMM" camp.

Well, after some trials as a killer now, ranked high skilled with trapper, PH and Demo thanks to the old system, it's impossible to play now, really impossible.

There is no way you get even one kill with those killers with a high SBMM.

With trapper, the time you need to set 3 traps = 3 gens done, 0 hook.

With PH, the time you need to find the first survivor, down and hook = 3 gens done.

    With Demo it's even worst.

It is impossible to win any game with standard weak killers now.

Buffing killers is not the solution. The global game design is crap, maps are crap and against competent survivor all killers became useless. There are just Blight & Nurse that can work at that level, everything else is impossible.

At the end, in some weeks there will be a huge problem.

High rank survivor will face only viable killers : nurse, blight. Other killers won't be able to go high rank as it is impossible to win a game against good survivor with them.

Good killers will end up playing terrible survivors when they play weak killers. They will go low rank matchmaking, get 4k then rank up get 0k etc... At the end they won't play those killers anymore as it's pointless when you have no chance to win.

I haven't had any issues so far I think it's a overreaction from the community and it's too hard to tell this early on

If you play both sides at a good level (don't say pro, just globally good) you can already see what will happen with the current state of the game.

I like that there is a SBMM system, really and it's great for the future of the game BUT killers are just too weak to compete at high level without using cheap mechanics.

I'm not a camper or tunneler as a killer but now, IF i play fair i have no chance to get 2K, no ######### chances. So if i want to win, i have to play badly, and it's clearly not fun for the survivors. I have to proxy camp, tunnel etc... gens go way too fast.

I think there should be a corrupt intervention that manage the free gens from the start to the end of the trial. You still need to do 5 gens but :

    • only 4 gens are unlocked for the first 3 gens, not too far from each others
    • when 2 gens are left, only 3 gens are unlocked

Or maybe, another idea, when 2 gens are left to be done, half the map is closed and not accessible anymore.

That's the only way to balance it without giving boring gen simulator situations.

Possibly, my killer rank has been really low due to barely playing, and MMR is actually making me face what I should've been the whole time.

Sweaty, unmindgameable, hard to read survivors. It's stressful, but saying this is a reason to say it's bad is wrong. I think a lot of people just got used to the easy games from poor matchmaking, I did.

I also main as nurse I should've mentioned that been here since day 1 I understand how gens are broken with certain killers but I haven't noticed a difference in my gameplay I think I was already playing the top tier with the occasional mix of bad survivors, it's truly no big deal from what I'm seeing I think it's an overreaction

Once my killer rating settles on all killers it will be fine, I am going off my data with my clown matches right now. They seem to be tough but fair with the occasional 4k or 0k and 1k. Mostly averaging at a 2k but with everyone on deathhook.

Since more hooks means more bp compared to one hook kills, I am happy with this.

Survivor matches are fine for the most part except far too many 5 gen tunnellers and campers. At least let 2 gens be completed before starting those tactics please.
