Lets do a poll. How many people really want SBMM

Yes
I would like SBMM. The problem is that BHVR probably doesn’t know how to make a good system and that’s what concerns me.

Not even question. Everyone wants it. Right now we're just going through the painful growth stages of adjusting Killers to survivor skill level. I could be a God tier Demo but I am absolutely horrendous on Twin. If I play Twins, I'll be matched with the bottom tier of Survivors until I crawl back where the game is relatively even.
I want to enjoy a game, not sweat hard because I'm going against SWF death squads.

Not without an unranked matchmaking.
Also, how do players gain skill points for the SBMM ? I mean, if you gain points as you pip, the SBMM won't solve anything.
And if you gain points differently than piping, well, to solve bad matchmaking, wouldn't it be simpler to just apply that way to define "playing well" to piping ?

Plus, I'd like to add that actually, I don't have better or worst games that before. I have the same proportion of "excellent games" and "absolutely miserable games".
Also, what is the meaning of ranks now ? It's just a "hey played X hours" emblem. Before it was kind of easy to get to rank 1 by playing safe, but now literally everyone can go to rank 1 super easily as you can't depip. Imo, they will change it to be a Elo indicator.
To conclude my opinion, I don't see the point and changes of the current "SBMM".
GL HF everyone !

Maybe, if they improve it. Behaviour should improve it before bringing it into the game.

I like the concept, if it turns out well done it will improve the game.

What now?

The alternative is literally zero matchmaking at all, given that this game has always had some form of SBMM at varying levels of functionality.

The concept is great but the execution got BHVR'd.

In an unbalanced 4v1 game that's almost entirely RNG-dependent, and the 4 have far more control than the 1, no I do not want SBMM. How do you determine skill in a 4v1 where the 2 sides have completely different objectives and aren't equal in any way? There isn't even a win condition, so how is skill supposed to be determined, especially considering sometimes your skill doesn't matter, and your chances of winning the match are just up to RNG.

The concept of MMR works, but not in a game like this. It is not balanced enough killer to killer, addon to addon, perk to perk. You could account for the randomness of a 4v1, but not if addons and perks are not balanced and accounted for.
All they needed to do was expand the rank system and adjust some of the values for camping/tunnel meta.
