Here's how my matches went killer vs survivor...
Just for fun I decided to see how my first 5 matches went in my killer matches versus my survivor matches to see how SBMM effected what kind of lobbies I got.
I took notes on anything notable that happened, how many hours everyone had, how many kills I got and how many pips I got.
**Disclaimer: I heard that you can't depip now so take pips with a grain of salt, same with hours. It's just for information's sake.
Killer Game #1:
- Survivors had around 2k hours
- Got 1 kill (primarily due to a bug that didn't allow me to pick up who I downed and it wasted a lot of time for me and didn't allow me to get that kill, if this bug didn't happen I would've had 2 kills at around 2 gens left and won the game most likely)
- Brutal killer
Killer Game #2:
- Survivor hours ranged from 600-2k+
- Got 3 kills (let last person go through hatch)
- Ruthless killer
Killer Game #3:
- Survivors had around 2k hours
- Lots of bugs/lag this match. Survivors were teleporting through walls (not exaggerating) and I got the pallet hit validation glitch multiple times (downing/hitting survivors but it not going through).
- Got 1 kill
- Brutal killer
Killer Game #4:
- Survivor hours unknown
- Duo SWF
- Got 2 kills
- Brutal killer
Killer Game #5:
- Survivor hours unknown
- Got 3 kills
- Ruthless killer
Survivor Game #1:
- Survivor hours unknown
- Killer hours unknown
- Got curb stomped by slugging + noed in endgame
- Died on first hook
- 1 pip
Survivor Game #2:
- Survivor hours unknown
- Killer had around 1k hours
- Lost a hook stage (1st to 2nd stage due to no one getting me)
- 1 pip
Survivor Game #3:
- Survivors had around 1k hours
- Killer hours unknown
- Lost a hook stage again... (2nd hook to death)
- Safety pipped
Survivor Game #4:
- Survivor hours unknown
- Killer hours unknown
- Almost pipped
Survivor Game #5:
- Survivor hours unknown
- Killer hours unknown
- Died on first hook (no one ever got me)
- Almost pipped
All in all I'm okay with how SBMM has treated me! I'm not 4king nearly as much as I typically was before it was enabled but I'm entirely okay with that because balanced matches are fun and I always was put in lobbies with mostly well-experienced people while I was playing killer. I also expected to lose every game with bringing Trickster to high-tier matches with the new SBMM as I was rank 1 beforehand but I'm pleasantly surprised. Mostly just glitches/bugs that were out of my control that ruined most of my games.
Survivor seems to be a bit rougher, as I'm very often either losing hook stages or not being grabbed at all. But I'm not nearly as good with survivor as I am with killer. So I'm expecting that it'll take some time to properly place me.
How has SBMM been treating you all? Is there a difference between your killer matches and survivor matches?

It’s been better than I expected, to be completely honest.
I only had time for one killer match. I played Nurse against decent survivors (they were doubling back, faking doubling back, breaking LoS, using unpredictable pathing and pallet fakes, etc. so not babies). I’m not good at Nurse by any means and I have very few hours on her but I managed to kill 3 of them by hooking them on rotation 3 times each (so no camping/tunnelling), and I let the last survivor escape after hooking them once. One of the survivors had 3000+ hours so I expected to get stomped into the dirt, lol. I’ll probably play more this weekend and see how things go.
I played a few survivor matches and took notes of everything. Couldn’t find any consistent pattern. There was a lot of variation in killer picks and builds. Some less experienced killers, some who had a few hours under their belts. Most killers I played against played “fair”, except for 1 Insidious Bubba, 1 hard camping Nurse, and one hacker (but I don’t think I should count that, in fairness).
My teammates were variable. Some questionable, some really good, but overall not too bad and they did gens and knew how to loop decently. My overall escape rate was less than 50%, though. But I feel like I probably could have escaped more if I ran a more consistent build, I was running some silly builds and threw a couple of escapes to get challenges done.
Overall, I had fun but I’m apprehensive about how MMR will shake out in the long run. Only time will tell I suppose.
