About pinhead’s chain cosmetics

So I saw there are 4 chain cosmetics: default, prestige, very rare and legendary.

I have watched streams from people playing every of these and I could only tell a bare difference for the prestiged one after hitting survivors with M1 because you see it more red, but I expected that the cosmetic was meant to be the chain you summon from the gateways, and actually it’s always the same for all skins.

Maybe the prestiged one makes some difference, but I don’t see why are they selling one for 400 cells and then another that is even worse for 550 cells but forcing you to buy the entire set for 1485

May someone tell me if I’m missing something?
