So Cenobite: DBD's Passive King?
Haven't played him yet, so i can't talk with you on what's good or not.
But i've been seeing feedback here and there that he might just be better off being an M1 Killer and leaving his Killer Power to passively do the Killer Power work.
Y'know, you regularly chase this one guy and then the 3 others are getting annoyed by Chains and carry a box.
Maybe throw in a teleport here and there, or actually do use a chain when you see the opportunity, but other than that you just go after them.
How true does this ring to you, Cenobite players?

His chains have some pretty neat uses like hitting survivors through walls in the Haddonfield house basement, etc.
He's not super great, but he's not as bad as people are saying, either.

Honestly, a lot of the fun factor comes from the possessed chain, so I don't think he should purely be a M1 killer. Still like 4-5 matches in with Pinhead, so I'm still getting used to the power. I feel they need to do something about the power, like maybe remove the cooldown where you can't destroy objects after using the chain. That way, even if it is a ludicrously safe pallet, you can still at least make the next part of the chase less safe.
Honestly, his biggest issue for me is the fact that the devs have done the best they can to make sure that Pinhead never picks up the box himself by giving survivors map-wide auras and he gets no auras whatsoever, and if he does, lower the consequences by making the box respawn 10 seconds latter. It kind of shows the kiler/survivor gameplay in a nutshell.

Yeah, i imagine the variety in Killers is a draw whenever a new Killer comes out, so naturally we'd like for the Killer Power specifically to be fun to use.
So thinking that he shouldn't be a pure M1 Killer; i agree.
Just saying that he seems to be doing not too bad passively, in comparison to his more active playstyle.

His passive is actually obscenely strong if you pair it with the iri lament config and devour hope. Once the chain hunt starts, survivors will struggle IMMENSELY to cleanse your devour totem. If you are actively patrolling the area as well, they can kiss their butts goodbye since you have a 30 meter "instant interrupt" attack you can perform. The totem will basically become uncleansable, its a super cruel but quite effective build.

If you run both add-ons that extend the solve time of the box, then absolutely yes. The extra time allows you to almost always get to the survivor holding the box before they can finish solving it. And if you keep chasing and downing survivors who go after your box you're applying pressure on the entire survivor team thanks to the non-stop chain hunts.
Pinhead becomes very oppressive if he keeps getting his box.

He’s pretty weak

I feel the box mechanic is really good. It can be very harassing if they don't find it. His chains on the other hands......I dunno. They feel way to punishing if you miss. They break pretty easily. I've been using them at pallet loops or vaults to try to slow them down. If they are far away I don't bother with chains. If I miss they just run farther.

he just makes people who fool around suffer. If you're an urban evading nea or always self-caring claudette, you'll probably think he's broken because of the passive.

The Chain Hunt will only ever annoy survivors if they allow it.
They can always see the aura of the Lament Configuration, with no distance limit and have more than enough time to solve it before the Cenobite can finish teleporting to them (and even then he might teleport on the wrong floor or behind a wall). Survivors are in full control of the chain hunt unless the killer use expensive add-ons to make it slightly more bothersome for them.
And even when a chain hunt happen, most likely because the survivors didn't pay attention, the value you might get out of it is going to vary greatly due to the unreliable nature of the chains. Depending on where they spawn, they can slow down or even trap a survivor, but they can also break instantly or simply miss.
The Cenobite is convoluted, unreliable, not in control of one of his more interesting aspect and therefore a weak killer.

King of Being Ineffectual. He can't even meme anymore.
Hardest nerf in DBD history since OG Freddy. Change my mind.
