Just a little question: Why the rank overhaul, if they don´t count anyway?
Just had a game with 3 gold rank and 1 red rank survivor against me, a bronze killer.
I´ve read in this forum, that the ranks are useless, because the game lists the player based on their skills, not on their rank.
Sooo why the renaming, maybe I am too confused to understand.
The matchmaking feeling exactly the same as before the update: unbalanced an unfair.
Can anyone explain this?

Yeah I dont understand it . i guess cause they changed it so you cant lose a tier anymore I believe who knows. also im a little annoyed its in roman numerals even tho those low numbers arent that hard to read.

They were renamed to Grades to make sure that they are not Ranks anymore. In two days everyone will be at the lowest Grade and then you see how less of an impact those Grades have.
In general, the longer this system is live, the lesser the meaning of Grades when it comes to seeing how skilled a player is.

To showcase that they no longer count and that Grades are a completely different thing from Ranks. As in, Ranks were how they measured/showed "skill" in the past and since it's no longer the case, we've the new system.
Also, since we've not had a reset yet, the Grades are sort of useless at the moment, as in the future they will represent how much someone's played in any given month.

Sooo that means: If I play really long a month, but I am playing very bad, you can get a good grade? XD

Yes. Grades only display your playtime and since you cannot depip to a lower Grade, you will reach Grade 1 at some point.

Probably because people refused to get out of the mindset of ranks. Whenever it was being tested they would say ranks are not currently being used for matchmaking.
And people would be like: "okay, but it clearly isn't working because all the ranks are different"

Skilled base matchmaking is just a placebo. What you experience now is literally the same thing a few months ago or a year go lol
