the Engineer's guide challenge

hello i play on the steam version of the game and there's a challenge in particular that does not progress no matter what you do.
the challenge is called the engineers guild, no matter what survivor i use, what perks i use it does not progress, I've tried to do it whilst cooperating with 1 other survivor and 2 others, I've completed gens with other survivors, I've part way finished a gen with other survivors but the progress stays at zero, I've asked friends to see if they get the same issue and they do it is not specific to a certain tome it is any of the engineers guild challenges
