A silent bell wraith
I just faced off against a silent bell wraith, i mean that's basically the only way you can hear they wraith coming to buy you a little time, but I couldn't hear the wraith or his bell, I mean ######### is going on, why are the devs trying to make all the killers stealthy or one shot killers and the only claim to fame with the survivors is numbers, I mean numbers don't do anything if you can't hear the killer or the killer can down you in one hit, I think I'm starting to see why people say they've giving up on this game and they just played it, dbd a fun but irritating experience and I don't even have the luxury of remembering the days people talk about when this game was fun, since I've only being playing for close to a year now

I had the same with a myers and zero radius. Was doing a gen in a dead end and had no idea.

It's too bad he doesn't have a ridiculously loud breathing noise that can be heard from far away, if he did you wouldn't need to rely on the bell sound.
That is on you more than the killer being stealthy, not like he is super tall and obvious or anything like that. Do you just stare into the wall while working on the generator?
Some awareness of your surroundings should be expected.

It was upstairs in the lab. I.E a Closet. The gen literally had 3 walls surrounding it, im aware it was on me, just didn't hear him at all was all i was saying.

This? SC is the biggest middle finger to stealth killers. I will also mention wraith can be heard without the bell (Growling+his bare feet smacking the ground), Mike can be heard breathing from quite a few meters, Ghostface has the whips that makes noise....That all being said no one should be staring at the gen while repairing (head on a swivel) and if you try to repair the 1 man gens that are inside a 1 exit closet/room you know the risk. That's why those area have achievements for finishing those gens.

It is one of the wraiths best add ons imo and I normally combine it with the no terror radius when uncloaking brown add on, which should be a yellow at least I think.
The problem is that this is an iri add on, which is supposed to be ultra rare, however you come across them in blood webs fairly often. Ultra rare to me means it should only have a 5-10% chance to spawn in a bloodweb but it occurs a lot more often than that.
0 -
That's cause the Bloodwebs in the highest character levels guarantee an Ultra Rare spot.
With New Moon Bouquet gone, all Splinter Offerings gone and Common & Ultra Rare Perks gone, you only have the Ebony Memento Mori & his 2 UR Add-ons left.
So you have a 33% chance per Bloodweb to get a Coxcombed Clapper, and 66% to get an UR Add-on.

I like the fact that if you open your ear you can hear the wraith getting close to you because of grass or thing like that and never forget you can see him while he is cloak
2 -
Silent Bell is fine. All Seeing Blood is what needs to be toned down.
0 -
If you are using headphones you can hear his snarls. It's not that hard to play around.
1 -
So the wraith just uncloaks in front of you he doesn't hide first?
0 -
Yeah try listening out for those when doing a gen or if he's behind a wall
0 -
Nope no snarls, unless he uncloaked far enough away, which is still an disadvantage
0 -
The wraith doesn't just uncloak in front of you and you can hear grass over a generator, nice try
0 -
Ok thanks, they way you've described it makes alot more sense then what some people replied with, thanks for the info
0 -
Yeah that's annoying to go against, but I guess survivors have numbers so, that evens it out lol
0 -
i've played a ton of wraith and honestly, i'd be fine with coxcombed clapper and all seeing-blood being reworked into something totally new.
0 -
He's very loud you should have no problem hearing him. Also Spine Chill exists. I can't understand other survivors complaining about addons when we have brand new parts and stuff to gen rush killers. And Wraith is not that strong either so let him have some good addons.

I don't have a problem with ghost face, he's been a stealth killer and his cape is loud enough to hear, my complaint is a Myers seeing through walls, there's no real skill you can use besides listening to where he's coming from and gens muffle his breathing easily or the fact that most killers can become stealthy with the right perks and add ons, survivors haven't had any changes besides new perks, which the killers get as well. Seeing who we play would be good, just in case there's a player being toxic, like camping hooks, or being able to communicate at certain distances, that might make solo a little better instead of killers constantly getting buffed
0 -
Probably because the gen was super loud, I think all killers should have a terror radius, they shouldn't have speed, stealth, wallhacks, powers and one shot abilities, teleportation, some can run, some have throwing abilities and death slinger has a gun, all in one game, oh but we have the numbers, oh yeah excuse me, my fault, lol

Your statement seems invalid, spinechill works against every killer for early warning. In most cases it's distance exceeds the killer's tr.

Arguing any perk is the counter is not relevant because its down to luck. You would need about 6-8 perk slots to counter everything. Counter play should be something thats not based on the luck of if you picked the correct perk to match the killer.
They can help, but they cant be relied upon. Do you take DS cuz of tunneling or small game cuz of noed, an exhaustion perk, vault speed, spine chill, BT, Unbreakable... this all comes down to luck of what build you choose so its not a consistent counterplay that you can just say 'do it'.
That said wraith with silent bell is hard to counter compared to the bell sound but like people said you can hear his snarls although with his speed boost it isnt much help unless youre lucky enough to be at a strong pallet/loop. It is an iri add on though for that reason.

Just gotta stay Alert...
Or you know...Run Spine Chill?
Heard that perk was great aswel,
1 -
Bone clapper is useless as hell no thanks.
0 -
If he is on stealth alert wont make anything
0 -
I meant like. stay on the look out and watch the outlines,
1 -
Yeah I'm not the best Looper and apparently there's not to many survivors that are, I see legacy survivors go down with ease, I think survivors need just a little bit more movement speed, I don't think a simple mind game should catch the killer up to you on a loop and I feel like if you can make a killer miss, you should be able to make some distance from that mistake, not the killer being right back on you
0 -
I would have to agree.
@milwaukee354 If it makes you feel better, I went against a Wraith last night with these two add-ons and he DC'd. We only got one gen done but I did hear two Hex totems explode. I didn't check to see his perks before I left but maybe that's why he DC'd. Oh, and he brought the 5th year cake too so I don't know why he raged.

So your saying you dislike the wraith not the historically problematic indoor maps. I can do an essay on why indoor maps suck ass for dbd. But tldr audio sucks ass for indoor maps. Tracking gen progress is nightmarish for killers. There often made of narrow corridors so there is no way to cut of your opponent as killer, a killer can block a save with a ridiculous amount of ease as the area to rescue requires running down a narrow corridor, Survivor's can be so far out of reach due to labyrinth like pathways resulting in deaths due to breakable walls not being destroyed, ranged killer suffer from asinine limitations despite there power having a massively gimped range due to narrow corridors and a lack of ability to utilized ranged attacks. Stealth killer and smart survivors are the only ones who can utilize these maps which begs the question why do they exist?
0 -
You know that most of the map survivor have a good fov so they can see really well. Anyway i just said some trick if you dont like them use spine chill like that you will do good against every killer that can catch you off guard and you dont need to pay attention at all
0 -
Just be aware of your surroundings. Sometimes you will have to put yourself in unfavorable (but not impossible) situations.
1 -
No i was talking about Myers not wraith. Please read more than 1 of my statements.
1 -
The problem with the Coxcombed wrapper is that it has no trade off, like you still have windstorm, if you are using that addon it should remove windstorm
0 -
Most add-ons for both sides have no downside for using them including ultra rares such as the Crystal Bead, BNP, and or the Blood Ember(Given that you'd need add-ons for keys charges to be used it in practice has no downside).
Add-ons don't need downsides for the sake of having downsides. That mentality Its how we get useless junk like Abdominal Dressing.
0 -
the one thing to alert you that wraith is nearby gets removed because of an addon, your bait
0 -
Also Crystal bead makes maps 4 times as powerful as instead of one person seeing what is mapped everyone can!
Also blood ember reveals the killer unless they are undetectable which bypasses terror radius reduction perks as well allowing you to see the killer when you normally can't.
Survivors have as much if not more unfair stuff then wraith can ever dream of having.
0 -
I have.
He snarls while cloaked.
2 -
You have like a parabolic mic when you play?? where can I get one???

People honestly underrate how useful Spine Chill's super simple function can be, even with other players promoting it. The thing's a permanent fixture in my Survivor loadout. I know if a Killer is suspicious of a gen we're working on before anyone else, I know he's definitely on his way if it stays on for a few seconds instead of just flickering, and while doing a gen near a chase I know immediately if the Killer decides to switch targets to me. While in a chase I also know -- when I get enough distance and/or objects between us -- whether he's still making a beeline for me. The small bonuses to some actions are merely icing on the cake, just being more aware in general is so great if you make sure to utilize it.
1 -
Rotate the camera. The gen will be quieter depending on your camera position.

You can hear him snarl even without a headset. I play without a headset when I play survivor sometimes, and you can still hear his tippytap footsteps and snarling. I don’t get people who don’t make use of noises as well as visual cues.
0 -
Believe me, I try to listen out for that

Imho Silent Bell (Coxcombed Clapper) is perfectly fine and a great ultra-rare. Still has a bit of counterplay because as others said, perks like Spine Chill and Premonition exist, he still has to uncloak, and he still makes his weird gargling/chirping noises in stealth.
I will agree though that Silent Bell mixed with All-Seeing: Blood (The Wallhack Add-On) is pretty nasty, and I'd love to see the All-Seeing add-on get some changes.
