I don't think in all the years I've played games, I've ever had the misfortune of encountering a company so incompetant, so naive, so clueless than the one that runs DBD.

I find myself unable to stop laughing with each update, the plethora of bugs that the developers actively create. These cannot be mistakes, there is clearly a concious effort to create these, maybe to make these immature "funny moments" more appealing, I don't know, I cannot simulate the effects of brain damage to tell you the reasoning. Unless of course most of their staff is college dropouts, which would explain a lot! I mean that recent hook 'fix' is beyond a joke, but that's the point right, to laugh? I think you need to remove the horror genre title, and rename to COMEDY. Because no other game makes me laugh so much.

There isn't enough time in the day, or in ones lifetime to explain each problem this game has. But those hitboxes, hatch mechanics and DS to name a few are at the top.

Didn't it occur to at least one member of your staff how absolutely IDIOTIC the hatch mechanic is? Not one? Really? It's that bad that I've passed it onto a friend who does lectures in game design, as an example of EXTREMELY bad game design. So congratulations for that, your example of bad design will be used as an example of what NOT to do for possible future games. Well done! Now that is something to be proud of, you've done something useful!

And speaking of this..

I know how much you love to congratulate yourself on the perfect job you've all done, so I'll do the same. I think you ALL did a pretty good job so far! Just typing that line makes me cringe to a point of nausea.
I think its pretty clear this company should sell the rights to DBD, I've always said this franchise is in the wrong hands. I've heard theres a group of monkeys at the local zoo, I think they could do a better job.

Please sell the rights to this game, if you can manage just one thing. Thank you!

But you know that the devs are on it to fix the whole endgame/hatch mechanic and the hitboxes? They always fixed a lot of bs. If you are one of the dbd veterans like me and others in this forum you will remember many many many many holy crap issues they have fixed. They talked with their community and started working on the problems and they were successful. So maybe you should take a pause from dbd and come back again later? Balancing the game was/is the most important thing, until Bloodlust is a thing, dbD for devs is not balanced. After balancing their game what do you thi9nk they will do? Right, fixing things like Hitboxes, the whole ranksystem, ping issues (hopefully dedicated servers). They have many ideas they want do integrate or change, but first they have to and they want to balance their game and sorry but they did a pretty good job, so far. Lets see what comes next. (and im not talking about "the next big patch will fix everything")

I think it's common knowledge at this point that the developers don't play their own game and rely on data gathering when making decisions.

Said it before in another thread https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/11734/lets-play-killer-day-for-the-developers but I want to say it again, the developers NEED to play their own game, against ACTUAL PLAYERS, in order to better understand it.

So far the only dev ive seen play at red ranks was not_Queen. She plays atleast around rank 4-ish on both survivor and killer

She is only a community manager all due respect. She does not really have any say on how the game is actually developed from a game play standing. She can only really air our issues.

I'd not count her as a developer though. She's a community manager, the public face for the developers.

Of course, there had to be someone who mentions this.... as expected xD
For every good thing you mention, most people can acutally counter it with 2 or more bad things in the game

If it's so #########, stop playing.
You're acting as if it'll have a huge impact on your career.
    Just stop.

The best bug I remember was the Nurse Bug after the 1.9.0 patch.
She had double stun after EVERY successful "lethal blink" hit!
Like, do they even check if all their added and/or changed features work as they should?

Yep. Pretty much. They also think they're special, but complaints like this are on every game forum out there. Doesn't matter the company.

Hell, I came from Overwatch. Was there from launch until end of September 2018. Go check out their forums. They're damned near identical to these forums. Same thing for the Heroes of the Storm forums. The WoW forums. The SWTOR forums.

None of it is anything special or new. The same ol' complainers just think they're a special voice. And I did a 12-year stint in game design. Know what we usually did? Gave them the attention they deserved. We ignored them.

I don’t think that’s really fair. Do keep in mind, Behavior has usually run things from the background and provided assets for other games. THIS is one of their first few official titles, making it more or less experimental. And since they have a passionate team of devs and streamers, often trying to make to community happier (providing patches based on feedback) and I think they’re doing great! Call me a behavior fan boy, but I think for their first game, they’re doing GREAT! And though some of it may be not as well received (such as the hatch), it’s totally their direction. The start may be a little slow, but they’re going places. Probably. Just give them time.

Another one writing a wall of text to complain, masking it by talking about bugs but overall its about the hatch mechanic.

Why oh why cant you just realise your own stubborness is what causes the problem, the fact is in the hatch situation it comes down to neither side willing to let them live or just die, that is the problem, those players who are unwilling to just end the game are more at fault than the mechanic.

Exactly couldn't of said it any better
