Game wont start because of missing patch, that isn't available?

Game tells me I need a patch to play, but there doesn't seem to be a new patch?
I was playing fine yesterday and all last night, but tonight it seems I need to patch the game?
I had this issue a few days ago and it only went away with reinstalling, I'm not going to do this EVERY time I want to play, so can someone help with this issue?
