Is SBMM effective?

yes
It's effective at making me hate DBD even more than I already do.
That's not what you're asking? Oh, sorry.

This, tbh.
Sweat squads almost every game as killer.
As survivor I can 5 gen run and die on first hook because I'm getting low ranked killers and teammates who all run NOED and when it's a good killer my teammates are playing their first few games lmao very fun.

Yes, but it's not perfect and you won't find anyone here but haters because no-one uses gaming forums except hardcore players.
It does it's job: Sweaty players are out of the general pop and in their own ecosystem whether they like it or not. It has its flaws: it's clearly too easy for killers to rise up and get the wrong trials, for one.

As Killer, I use Corrupt and the 3 gens are still being done while being patrolled as a Prior Red Rank killer. Full Sweaty teams are all im facing. There is no SBMM happening.

SBMM is working so it is effective.
The problem doesn't come from the MMR system. It works great on DbD, better than in most other games.
BUT DbD being what it is, an unbalanced game, it makes the trials unbearable for killers at high MMR. Also, there is clearly a lack of high MMR survivors as it takes ages to find a game as a killer...

It's saved me from no longer playing this game because of the same generic cookie cutter killers and their builds, and even if I'm getting worse team mates from dropping ranks, the games themselves are actually more fun and a lot of weird stuff goes on. So yes, it's effective and working as intended. Casual play/less sweaty players no longer have to deal with those that want to run the same stuff over and over again, and the higher rank killers can enjoy their long queue times and back to back SWFs.

Right with you, sbmm has been the worst thing they have ever added to this dumpster fire of a game and then they gloat about how effective it is. The devs obviously don’t play their own game and if they do they’re definitely not good. There is little to no change at the top as “ANY” killer but hey bhvr making s good buck on releasing dlcs and getting money when not caring about the health of the game. Typical!

I am enjoying this because i have taken weeks off playing dead by daylight due to the matchmaking and that they did well in making accomadations to low/unskilled players as myself and others. I have had it in the old system of having to be put inmatches where they kick my ass and not give me a fair chance of playing the game in completing a gen, healing myself or team mates as wells as ranking and leveling up was a ######### if i didnt finish a match i lose rank and that sucks ass cause i play 6 hours to get that rank and now that it is much better where we dont lose rank also, im glad that they took some of my suggestions into consideration to make the game fair for low/unskilled and advanced/hardcore players to be matched separately. Well done dev team!

Although I am still for sbmm, it still has problems that need to be worked out.
I voted no however I would like to clarify one thing since you only gave us 2 choices.
As survivor, it seems to be working almost perfectly. I see the kinds of teams dropping in quality as I am first found and camped and tunnelled straight out of the game with around 5k bp multiple times in a row. Then I see the quality raise when I have managed to escape many times in a row. The killers mostly seem to be around my skill level, I do get the ones way above me now and again. I can't speak of some of the ones who tunnelled and camped due to being caught working on a gen in a dead zone.
As killer, it seems mmr does not drop enough when losing about 20 games in a row, losing being 0k or 1k with 4 or 5 hooks all game. Even when games are ending within 5 minutes and 3 gens popping before my first or second hook, I still mostly get sweaty games. There should be a multiplier to the rating score lost over multiple losing streaks, whatever bhvr classes as a loss.
Tldr For killer, no it does not seem to be working. For survivor, it seems to be working fine for now.

If this game was actually balanced it would have been yes

At its current state? No. I've had less fun playing this game since it went live. It still needs ALOT of work.

I got sweaty matches with Trickster and Nemesis even though I never touched them before

When playing solo survivor i still get a lot of bad teammates, it's definitly better then before the SBMM but far from perfect.
As killer i get even more swf's and in my opinion that's not fair.
I think the biggest problem with the SBMM (and game balance) for killers is swf.
Not only for SBMM, but also for game balancing.
It has nothing to do with skill, swf is what carries a lot of people and makes the game easier (Unfair Advantage).

It's not perfect, but overall yes. I did a Huntress challenge today and was actually able to play Huntress and do my challenge because it matched me with low-rank survivors. Previously, I couldn't even attempt to learn.
