Chapter ??- Friday the 13th

Killer: The Slasher (Jason Voorhees)

Killer Lore/Background:

The legend of Jason Voorhees begins with his supposed death in 1957. The boy had been born with mental and physical deformities, which made him both a target for bullies and overprotected by his mother. Unable to find a suitable caretaker for him they both left for Camp Crystal Lake, where Pamela Voorhees took on a job as a cook. While she was busy with her duties, Jason was tormented and bullied by the other children, who went so far as to throw him into the lake. Unable to swim, Jason cried out for help, but the counselors were having sex and not paying attention to what was happening. When Pamela found out what had happened to her son, it was too late. The lake was dredged and searched, but no body was found and it was assumed that Jason had drowned.

Instead, he had managed to swim to shore and survive. Unable to make his way back to camp, he lived in the woods where he had constructed a makeshift shack to live in, stealing supplies from local campers and whatever scraps he could find. He grew into a capable young man despite his deformities, living off the land and waiting for his mother to come back and protect him like she had before. When she did return, he found his way back to camp only to see her be murdered by a young counselor. Enraged by the death of the only person who ever loved him, he sought her out and tracked her to town, eventually killing her.

Jason returned to Camp Crystal Lake and defended it with a passion. Whenever people came back to try and revitalize the camp, he killed them all. When police and other authorities came to stop him in his tracks, he slaughtered them all. Even when he was finally killed and put into the ground, evil would not let him die, always returning him to the mortal world to wreak death and vengeance once more. Nothing could stop him, nothing would end him… and that is when the Entity brought him into the Fog. Jason could never be finished, but his murders could be repeated and recycled for eternity for the Entity’s amusement. Jason didn’t care- all he saw were counselors and people who hated him, killed him and his mother, as well as future victims to please Mother.

Killer Overview: The Slasher is an unrestrainable Killer who chases Survivors with an All Out Assault. His personal perks Weapons Master, Perpetual Slaughter and Scourge Hook: Offering to Mother allow him to master the art of mutilation and find new victims after finishing off others.

Power: All Out Assault

The Slasher never gives up, can never be put down and always catches up to his victims in time to end them swiftly and brutally.

  • The Slasher periodically sees the instant Auras of all Survivors in his Terror Radius for 3s every 20s.
  • The longer the Slasher stays in chase, the more his action speed increases for all Interactions, up to a maximum of 50% after 40s in chase. The Slasher can also recover from stuns 20% faster than other Killers.
  • When not in line of sight of any Survivors, The Slasher can Shift and move near instantly (2s) to a selected Generator without warning. Has a cooldown 60s.

Addons:

+Brown/Common

  • Mother’s Knife- Slightly increase the duration of instant Auras shown. (A hunting knife used to slaughter many teens before your rampage, used by Mother.) “Come dear. It’ll be easier for you than it was for Jason.” -Pamela Voorhees”
  • Burlap Mask-- Slightly increase the rate of action speed increase while in chase. (A thick cloth bag with a hole torn in it. Hid your face and gave you a sense of comfort.)

  • Allen’s Heart- Slightly increase the maximum of Action Speed increased. Slightly decrease the maximum Stun recovery. (A heart ripped out of an unfortunate young man who helped bring you back to life.) “Jason is alive. He killed my friend, now he’s coming for me.” -Tommy Jarvis

+Yellow/Uncommon

  • Mother’s Machete- Moderately increase the duration of instant Auras shown. (An old and rusted machete Mother had used to kill the counselors that let you drown. Wielding it makes you feel like she never left you.)
  • New Hockey Mask- Moderately increase the rate of action speed increase while in chase. (A brand new hockey mask from a fat boy, the beginning of a legend.)
  • Meat Cleaver- Moderately increase the cooldown of Shift. (A meat cleaver made to slice and hack through flesh, so that’s what you did.)
  • Judy’s Sleeping Bag- Moderately increase the maximum of Action Speed increased. Slightly decrease the maximum Stun recovery. (A bloody yellow sleeping bag filled with gore and bones.)

  • Burned Hockey Mask- Considerably increase the cooldown of Shift. (A charred hockey mask after someone tried killing you- again.)
  • Boat Engine- Moderately increase the maximum Stun recovery. (A propeller and engine from a boat that shredded your face and nearly caused you to lose your grip.)

  • Julius’ Head- The increased action speed gained in chase lasts for 10s after losing or winning a chase. (The head of a young boxer who thought he had a chance of beating you. Killing him was as simple as a single punch.

+Red/Ultra Rare

  • Freddy’s Arm- The Slasher can no longer see Auras. The increased action speed gained in chase now decays while not in chase. (A charred and rotted arm with a black and red sleeve wearing a leather bladed glove. Taken from a demon who tricked and tried to kill you.) “Why won’t you DIE?” -Freddy Krueger
  • Rusted Chains- After exiting a chase, the Slasher receives the Unstoppable status effect for 6s. (Old and rusty chains that held the Slasher at the bottom of Camp Crystal Lake. No matter how many times you were drowned down there, you always came back more bloodthirsty than ever.)

Survivor: Tommy Jarvis

Survivor Lore/Background:

When Jason came after the Jarvis family, he was killed for the first time by a young Tommy Jarvis, who repeatedly slashed and stabbed at Jason’s crippeled form until he no longer moved. This trauma would forever follow him from clinics, wards and insane asylums until he came to Pinehurst Youth Development Center. At the young age of 17, Tommy was once again ready to rejoin society when a copycat killer began using Jason’s persona to murder anew. This left Tommy in another fight for his life which, with the help of two others, he ended the copycat as he ended Jason, though not before his near insanity almost led him to become a killer himself and almost kill his friends.

To finally put the horror to an end, Tommy took his friend Allen to Jason’s grave where they had planned to cremate him. Upon seeing the corpse, Tommy went into a panic attack and began attacking it once more. While Allen tried calming him down, a lightning bolt came down and struck the metal pole Tommy had left in the body, reanimating Jason and leading to Allen’s quick death. Tommy, in shock, goes to find help but is quickly dismissed by police who think he is still mad and traumatized from Jason’s attacks years ago. Only the sheriff’s daughter Megan believes him, and after another bout of murders the pair manage to sink Jason back into Crystal Lake where he could no longer hurt anyone.

This was not the end for Tommy, however. Determined to make sure Jason is done once and for all, Tommy stays near Crystal Lake and pays attention for any hint that Jason could return. During a search of a lead he was pursuing, he was caught and sent to a psychiatric hospital in an attempt to finally help him. While there, he was traumatized and tortured by a different kind of slasher- a creature of nightmares and darkness, where sleeping could mean death and dreams were no sweet escape. After escaping the asylum with the help of a friend, Tommy travels back to Crystal Lake to fight Jason once more, where he has risen and began slaughtering anew. As the two faced off again, mist swirled around the both of them until they could no longer be seen. When the Fog had dissipated, they had disappeared, neither to ever haunt the camp again.

Survivor Overview: Tommy Jarvis is a traumatized Survivor who has survived many close calls with death and has become all the stronger for it. His personal perks Crazed Survivor, Oh #########! and Know Your Enemy allow him to recover from frights quickly, run away from danger and destroy Totems safely.

  • When getting into a chase with the Killer while this perk is active, gain a 5/6/7% Haste status effect for 8s. During this time, see the Auras of nearby Vaults and Pallets within a 24m radius.

“You like that huh? You like that #########?!?” -Tommy Jarvis

  • Every time you cleanse a Hex Totem, the Killer’s Aura is shown for 4/5/6s.

+Map: Camp Crystal Lake (This summer camp once offered fun times and taboo times for both children and counselors alike, but those are mere memories now. After a tragic drowning accident, the camp fell onto hard times ending in several deaths at the hands of a former employee. When everyone thought the nightmare was over, that was when the horrors truly began- Jason terrorized the camp and slaughtered dozens over the years, bringing death and terror to all who dared approach. In the Entity’s realm once more, nothing much has changed except for new faces, both Survivors and Killers alike.)
